pffan1990
Interesting that I seen this today regarding Farley hinting at a future US plant news in coming months. With many US plants shutting down temporarily amid the chip shortages, many people wonder about products being built and shipped to dealerships. Some customers wondering when their ordered products would be built too. Some people are concerned about companies outsourcing jobs to Mexico and elsewhere too. In Farley's tweet wishing his daughter a happy birthday, someone commented about Ford not investing enough in US plants, at which point he replied to wait for a future plant news in coming months. https://fordauthority.com/2021/05/fomoco-ceo-jim-farley-hints-at-future-ford-u-s-plant-news/
slemke
Second Lightning plant at the Kansas City site? Or expansion at Kentucky truck for expedition/navigator? Farley knows how to stir the pot and keep folks attention for what’s coming next.

Harley Lover
On 5/14/2021 at 12:27 AM, John Hopkinson said: Has Ford ever confirmed or denied the report that the Dearborn plant will be shut down the weeks of May 17th and 24th? I saw some actual Ford employees were disputing that claim. As Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by that much": In a memo to employees obtained by Automotive News and confirmed by Ford, the automaker said its Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan and the truck side of its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri will be idled the weeks of May 31 and June 7. They will also operate on a reduced schedule the week of June 14. And: Additionally, Chicago Assembly, where workers build the Explorer and Aviator crossovers, will be down the week of May 31 and will be on a reduced schedule the week of June 7. Flat Rock Assembly in Michigan, where workers build the Mustang, will be idled the weeks of May 31 and June 7. https://www.autonews.com/manufacturing/ford-will-idle-both-f-150-plants-2-more-weeks?utm_source=breaking-news&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20210519&utm_content=hero-headline
