Ranger woes

Ok, was driving my new ranger,  FX4  extended cab.  I hit a chuck hole at a railroad crossing and then electrical system went crazy. Multiple sensor warnings nav out advance trac warnings etc. Then engine quit could not restart with key on shifter stuck in park, steering wheel still mobile, warning flashers showing inside cab but not showing outside. Finally got shifter to release, pushed on to side street. With key still in the on position vehicle started itself. WTF At 5100 miles?

It sounds to me like it got jostled into Auto Start-Off when you hit the chuckhole and then restarted as soon as whatever parameter (there are a dozen or more) that shut itself off cleared. I would take it in to a dealer and have it checked out, though.

You may also have done other damage- bent rim, misalignment, etc.

You may have loosened a connector or something when you hit the chuckhole.  I agree, bring it in and have the connectors all looked at and make sure there was no damage.  I've had my Ranger for 2.5 years and no issues, they are really good, reliable trucks.

Another crazy angle, while trying to start, tach and speedo showed vehicle doing 25mph and tach showed running engine but neither was true.  It was not a large pothole and my truck is the FX4 off road, but it can't deal with a pot hole? Oh well we shall see it is at dealer now wheel tire and suspension are fine.

Ok the dealer fixed the issue and I got the truck back the problem was " inspected BJB connector C1035C not seated properly, also power feed connector C1035C loose and not secure" Well it is fixed, thank you for all your thoughts and guidance. Jim Jackson
