The Edge got an update a couple of years ago, they gave it the Chinese IP/ interior as China moved to a new one

The only significant change at that time was the new center stack with the large screen and Sync 4. The panel directly in front of the driver still has the same 2 screens on each side of the speedo (which was shared with the 2013 - 2020 Fusion).

Yeah, the Ranger has the same IP, 2 standard gauges with a center screen for XLT and below, One standard gauge, and 2 side screens on the sides for the Lariat.

That IP has been around for what seems like forever and it was pretty dated years ago too when the Ranger first came out here in the US.

Saw my first GT yesterday in Cyber Orange.  I've seen quite a few regular ones, but this was my first GT.  It looked good, though I still like the upgraded wheels better than the GT's standard ones.

More on topic, it'll be interesting to see how Mach E is received there.

So they sold 7,812 units of the Nautilus in September in China....

Impressive too bad we don’t ship them there from OAC no more. The Chinese made sure to complain about our quality. It wasn’t up to their standards.

That’s to be expected when they’re pushing for local production,  everything the Chinese do is about capturing

as much of the business activity as possible, things like production, labor, parts supply and splitting profit with

foreign brands…..and most companies are happy to do that. Ironically, most of China’s domestic brands haven’t

advanced to active exporters like the Chinese bosses had hoped.

You’re so right! When they started building the Edge over there albeit a 7 seat version a lot of people here figured the Nautilus would eventually be built there. The Chinese had stringent quality policies with us and they complained about the paint quality fit and finish etc. Like you said it was all part of their game plan to get production localized over there. Of course Ford obliged as China is a massive market.

It’s clever coercion too, avoid import tax by building locally but profit is split with local Chinese partner

who also supplies labor to build in plants paid for by Ford…….

everywhere automakers turn in China they bump up against another  face of the CCCP.

You couldn’t be more correct on the matter. CCCP wins again! The communist party doesn’t play fair at all.
