yorid
Does anyone have any idea or educated guess on how long this commodity hold for the Adaptive Steering will last?
NextLevel
From what I read, no body knows.
mattdm
nobody knows. I kind of doubt even ford knows. I have a feeling it will get removed all together from available options for 22MY trucks.

Which makes one wonder what they are short of, exactly? Plastic for black steering wheels, or some chip component, or what? They can't ship a single Limited since AS is included, so they must be working hard on solving the problem.

There are literally hundreds of components that could cause vehicles to not be built. Trying to figure out specific parts other than the ones Ford mentions specifically like AS is pointless.
AurthurCurry
The King Ranches are being built with Adaptive Steering, correct? Other than color what other differences could there be between the trims levels that are holding up production? Either Color or some commitment to sell X number of King Ranch Trims. Having said that, I figured that the AD was internal and not color specific. In any case, I am surprised that there isn't any information on the AD issue. But yes, I'm sure Ford would prefer to sell all they can though.

Seems like someone at Ford would have general idea of how long this will last, 3 months - 6 months or should I wait for a 2023
JKinTx
Yeah that question is relevant to me as well. Have two quotes. One dealer kept the bed liner and AS on, the other took both off. Somewhat bothersome at the moment. Until further notice doesn't mean never. Also is the bed liner not happening either?
Lab Cab
My guess, and it is simply a guess is that AS commodity hold will last quite some time. Bed liner will resolve much quicker and is easier to deal with after build. I dropped both and my truck was scheduled the next Thursday for production week of. I am happy with my decision to be impatient and drop both....
NextLevel
I emailed my dealer this morning and told him to drop the AS. We’ll see what happens with my order.

NextLevel
Well, I got scheduled for 10/18 today! I guess it was worth removing the AS.

NextLevel
I was going to hold out also, but then said screw it. With no time frame as to when it would be available, I felt I wouldn’t get the truck until early next year. Didn’t want to wait that long. If I feel I really miss it (which I don’t think I will), I’ll trade up to a ‘24 in a couple of years. I’m sure there will be plenty more changes by then that I will want! ? yorid
Yea if its going too far into next year my dealer will keep it to sell and I'll order a 2023. Traded my Transit Connect for a 2017 Expedition 4x4 so at least I have something to tow my boat. Not in a big rush now.
