Nighthawk37
Does the 2.5L have a known issue with oil leaking from the front of the engine? Maybe the front main seal? Our '15 Fusion 2.5L with about 88k miles had oil around the front of the engine the last couple times I did an oil change. Not a huge amount of oil, but enough to form a few drips on the bottom of the engine and some accumulation on the undertray. Wondering if I should just continue to clean it up and not worry about it, or have it looked at sooner rather than later.
akirby
Not common. Might be leaking from the oil filter.
Nighthawk37
I guess it depends on how you look at it. To me, the oil filter is on the side of the engine (but front of the car). The leak is on the front of the engine (passenger side of the car).
Nighthawk37
Had our dealer look at it. Timing cover gasket. Says they have to drop the engine to get at it, and might as well change the water pump while we’re in there. $1300. Looks like I’m dealing with a little oil leaking for now.
