Yes, since Lincoln NEVER did spaced out letters before in their history......before Range Rover even existed....pure copying lol.

Oh really?? Wasn't that the standard back then anyway, when Toyota couldn't even sell cars, let alone Lexus being merely a gleam...?

Apples and oranges lol, that is way different than today's stuff.

Lexus needs to field a real sizeable competitor to the Navigator L, to get anywhere in the BOF segment and not be so niche. An LWB Sequoia in Lexus skin.

The LX is like combining the G-wagen and Navigator SWB in a pot, then dishing it out. It hardly directly competes with either, as it cannot.

The 2024 Lexus TX 500h they have coming, is unibody and IIRC, FWD-based AWD. Kind of like an MKT I figure, but bigger than this LX, which I don't know how it is going to work.

Lincoln fortunately doesn't need a T3 SUV with an SRA and the offroading gadgetry that the Land Cruiser/LX 600 has. 4x4 Navigators do the job just fine, getting up to ski cabins or dirt roads leading to country estates or ranches.

Not sure how it's "apples and oranges".........you said Lincoln (and Porsche) copied Range Rover's spaced letters on the rear, when that's just not true, as both brands have used that approach in/since the 50s/before Range Rover existed, as I've shown in the pictures.  Not sure how "that's way different than today's stuff", or how them being different vehicle types is relevant.

Now, don't take me out of context, because I strictly referred to Lincoln. Please, as that wouldn't be fair to Porsche would it? Porsche never lacks originality, well other than creating the Cayenne in general.

Porsche have been way more consistent with spelling out letters, especially compared to LINCOLN on some chrome bumpers from 70 years ago, which Ford never even held firm to and was very inconsistent, thus apples and oranges.

Lincoln dropped that theme in 1957, with the redesigned jumbo-sized Continental.

In April 1968, the Mark III, reintroduced it for 1969. However, this was the first model to spell out  C O N T I N E N T A L  on the trunk lid, rather beautifully.

Lincoln continued doing this for the Mark Series, until 1983, when the new 1984MY Mark VII dropped it entirely and went strictly to the emblem only.

The Continental retained it through December 1987, when the new FWD FN9 made its Boxing Day 1987 debut as an '88.

From December 26, 1987 to September 2014, no single production Lincoln had lettering for neither the model nameplate nor Lincoln brand spelled spaced out across the back. The 2015 Navigator marked this wonderful return.

This similarly happened at Ford, starting in the early 1980s, where the Blue Oval replaced spelled out lettering, because it was deemed "old fashioned".

1987_ford_ranger_history-2.jpeg.65ae50fa4490303479941124b4de6d96.jpeg By end of 1991 you couldn't get a Ford pickup like that anymore, unless leftover 1991 stock. Save for the Mustang, everything required the Blue Oval.

Yet the Europeans got away with it just fine on Porsches and Range Rovers for a good 30+ years.

Lexus could've copied almost anyone at this point with the 2022 LX 600, by doing this today.

Apples and oranges indeed, being that I addressed SUVs and not old 70 year old sedans, that didn't even center it on the rear LOL.

Remind me when the Navigator had that look in 1997 and then Lexus jumped on the bandwagon?

It's telling how things really did happen...

The SVT Raptor at least honored its heritage, while Lincoln and Lexus simply chose a fresher take on their badging respectively.
