Huzzar
I've seen a safe, fridge and organizers that can be put into the giant cubby between the seats on a SD. What's your experience? Anything you are really glad you used, or would never do again?
Kory04
I just got my truck on Tuesday, and installed the refrigerator this afternoon. Its too soon to know for sure, but after going out to the truck a couple hours later, the thing was super cold and frosty on the inside. I wasn't sure if the power source inside the console had power when ignition is off, and I forgot to check before installing, but apparently it does, and I'm glad. I read somewhere that the fridge has a monitor and will shut itself off if the truck batteries drain below 10 or 12 Volts to prevent them going dead. It is very quiet and you can barely hear it running when the truck is shut off, and would probably be unnoticable when driving. The fit and finish looks like OEM, and install was really easy. This will be nice for me during long snowplowing days when defrost is always on hot and high, drinks always melt so fast. Dometic makes good high quality stuff Yes a cooler would be cheaper, but this is too cool and convienent. Plus, the console wont turn into my trash can Edited October 21, 2021 by Kory04
Kory04
I was wrong. Appears the console outlet doesn't have power with ignition off, Im not sure if I left the key on, or if it just has power for a period of time after turning truck off

Can you show a picture of it open, and with something in it? Wanna see how it compares to the fridge in my 200 series.

I think it holds 2 6-packs of 12oz cans on top of each other, with little if any room to spare.

I haven't really tried it yet, but the comment about 2 6 packs stacked on top of each other with no extra room is a pretty good assessment I'd say
Dakkat720
Dometic makes great 12v appliances. I'm definitely getting one of these if my 250 ever gets built
Blackdiamond925
I have a Dometic fridge in my Jeep and getting the power situation figured out has been a project. I wouldn't want it always on. I've got the safe, which I got for travels south of the border. I don't regret it, but man does it take up a lot of space.
