Reynolds416
Hello all, I have a 2017 MKZ with the 2.0L turbo and from what I've seen it's the same motor more or less as a Focus ST. Is it literally the same motor or does the Focus have different parts on it from the Lincoln? What is cross-compatible between the two cars? Can't name them off the top of my head, but I am sure some others here can. Also different tuning/engine programming etc. etc. Just popping parts from a Focus ST 2.0 EcoBoost onto the MKZ 2.0T engine will not give you the power increases you may be expecting. EDIT - If I recall correctly, the MKZ 2.0T is a ~245HP/275 lb.-ft. torque engine. And the Focus ST puts out ~252HP/270 lb.-ft. torque. Both ratings are based on premium fuel use. That seems like a lot of money and work for ~7HP gain and 5 lb.-ft. torque loss. You can get more than that HP increase just by using premium fuel instead of regular in your MKZ (if you are using regular now). Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I think from what I've seen the turbo, intercooler, and downpipe are different on the Focus ST, but I'm curious as to what aftermarket parts would fit onto the MKZ. I wish I was able to get the MKZ with the V6, but the I4 scoots along well enough.
