Yes sir, that's what made Jim Hackett a great leader and a great teacher. He actively listened to his proteges (like Farley) and trusted them to do the right thing. Jim Farley is more of a product guy than Hackett ever was but to Jim Hackett’s credit his biggest virtue was letting his team do their jobs properly and setting up Farley for success. Right. As CEO he set expectations and allowed the teams to do the right thing. They weren’t necessarily his ideas. As opposed to Fields who put the kabash on things. Now Farley is doing both - injecting his ideas and vision and providing resources and prioritization and supporting the product teams. And communicating with Wall St and customers.

Everything Ford has done this last year and for the next two years was started or completed by Hackett. Including going into EV battery plant construction and supply? Not sure but I was referring mostly to vehicles debuting since they normally take 3-4 years. Any new vehicle started by Farley would be another 2-3 years out. Yes sir, though it was just before Hackett retired that he finally came to appreciate the importance of in-house battery production at Ford. Previously Hackett and other Ford executives were content with sourcing batteries from other companies. About a half year after Hackett retired, Ford announced the Ion Park Battery R&D Lab.
