I've seen what amounts to a $600 drop (all input factors remaining the same) from two weeks ago across all the usual online suspects... KBB, NADA, Black Book. Private sold it for the original trade in value and got the tax savings through the dealer so I ended up better off in the end and didn’t have to roll with one car between the wife and I. Back in October, when I ordered my new truck, my 19 F450 was worth and average trade-in value of 79K, this morning it says 86K. I am sure a lot has to do with what truck and location. Alex Kreh Posted April 20, 2022 Share Posted April 20, 2022 The trade-in value when I ordered in the beginning of February for my '14 F-150 was between 15-18k roughly I believe. Modit2 Posted April 20, 2022 Share Posted April 20, 2022 When the price of fuel spikes, the price of less fuel efficient vehicles drops. I went ahead and sold my truck in March when the fuel rose sharply. I'll have to pay 8.375% sales tax when/if the F450 arrives but that will be at least September. I'm betting that my trade value would drop more than 8.375% between March and September. Time will tell if it was a good gamble but I didn't want to risk a 20-30% drop to save 8.375%. Robin Hood Posted April 21, 2022 Share Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) I have been tracking KBB values for the last year on a 2017, 2019 and 2021. All three are currenty sitting at or near ATHs.
