Cglenn
I placed my order in early February with every conceivable option, well almost no As, no console vault, no tonneau cover, no mud flaps and no bedliner as I have them in hand waiting to install once I get the truck. F250 platinum should I take the risk and add AS as it seems platinum’s and trucks with AS are being built now? Yea r am I going to set myself deeper into purgatory? I know at one time AS was rumored to be a significant constraint(+26 weeks). I reallly want AS but not at sacrificing my truck production till the end of the year. Dr-Bear-PhD
I wouldn’t order with AS, but that’s because I don’t particularly care for it. My current 2019 F450 has it, and The 2022 F450 I have on order doesn’t have it. it’s really a combination of personal preference and how you plan on using the truck.
4thTimer
If you want it, I wouldn't wait. But it's not a listed option now so it may not be possible. I just checked to see if I could build an order with 2-tone paint and even that isn't an option now. Some swear by AS, others don't care, and some don't like it. I ordered a Limited so don't have choice but hoping it makes pulling a 5er easier for my wife. Too bad there aren't any trucks on the lots to go compare. Cglenn
I want it because my last truck had it but I also don’t know if I could really discern the difference. Can anyone say whether it’s still a constraint? Surely someone has some intel. My dealer said he would add t if I really wanted it since I don’t have a vin yet. Are trucks actually getting built with AS now?

I took a copy of the order guide to the dealership with me and I had all the options to order highlighted. The dealer will either be able to ender the code or they won't. ScottK1
AS is great. Just wait for it. I did and am glad I did. Console vault? Why? The center console locks with the key already.
Cglenn
Well I am not surprised that I didn’t get picked up for scheduling. I did reach out to my salesman to go ahead and add AS to my order since I checked and the parts are physically available to purchase from ford parts and not on back order(very very expensive as just the steering wheel assembly is $2800 plus it looks like a special steering box is also required $800). Salesman told me that cannot add AS to any super duty at this time period. I think this is bs since I am unscheduled and have not been previewed. Can anyone confirm ?? Ice may be able to weigh in on if retail can be ordered with AS, but it's been on limited build for months.

FloralIndustries
IMHO, after watching the flow of orders across 3 different Ford truck enthusiast forums, AS is the kiss of death for getting built in a reasonable amount of time (less than 6 mo.). I would not add it to my order if I wanted the truck before late fall.
lcseds
I think Ford is trying to balance parts needed for the quantity of trucks on order. Changes would alter inventory need and cause more problems. I think orders are now locked so Ford know exactly how much of each component is needed to make us all happy with new trucks before switching to next MY.
