Ralph Greene
Just curious why wife's new 2022 Nautilus has what appears to be a door lock, looks like it has one, but she didn't get an actual key. Sure....she doesn't really need one....she can open door with FOB or combo lock on side. But strange Ford would put a lock there for no purpose. Thanks for your patience. Ralph Greene
Thanks...no one told me that. And I have been all over the digital owners manual. And the simple one they provided me.

And the simple one they provided me. There is literally a blurb in the Nav manual called "Removing The Key Blade". Check page 77 in your manual. It is not labeled but it is in the changing a battery section.
fuzzymoomoo
Be careful popping that little decorative cover off, they've been known to break the clips.
j2sys
Next to the hole for a key ring is a button, push that and slide the bottom of the fob off. It forms a handle with the attached key blade. That's for the doors, there's a spot somewhere inside the cabin where you can set the fob down if the fob battery dies, so you can still start the car. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&Uid=G2171075&ProcUid=G2170128&div=l&variantid=8508&vFilteringEnabled=False&userMarket=usa Quote ACCESSING THE PASSIVE KEY BACKUP POSITION If you are unable to start the engine, do the following: Open the floor console storage compartment lid. With the buttons facing upward and the unlock button facing the front of your vehicle, place the passive key into the backup slot. With the key in this position, press the brake pedal then press the push button ignition switch to switch the ignition on and start your vehicle. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&Uid=G2138034&ProcUid=G2171383&div=l&variantid=8508&vFilteringEnabled=False&userMarket=usa Quote UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THE DOORS USING THE KEY BLADE If there is a power door lock fault you can use the key blade to lock and unlock the doors. If the central locking function does not operate, lock the doors individually using the key in the position shown. LEFT-HAND SIDE Turn clockwise to lock. RIGHT-HAND SIDE Turn counterclockwise to lock. UNLOCKING THE DOORS If the central locking function does not operate, unlock the driver door and then unlock all other doors individually by pulling the interior door handles. Note: When the doors have been unlocked using this method, the doors must be locked individually until the central locking function has been repaired.
