It won't be long until other incumbent automakers do the same. This should help accelerate timelines for the global automotive industry's all-electric future. GM will start tying executive compensation to electric vehicle targets (cnbc.com)

Starting this year, Barra said the compensation targets will include volumes of EVs in North America as well as launch timing and quality for such vehicles. GM plans to increase its production of electric vehicles to 2 million in North America and China by 2025, as it moves to exclusively sell EVs by 2035.

This is where Ford has an advantage with Ford Blue vs Ford EV vs Ford Pro.  Each business unit can focus on different goals and KPIs.

EV sees most of the new investment and can focus on launches and vehicle development and battery technology and less on profit margin and ROI.

Blue will see minimal investment and focus on profit margin and cost cutting as sales drop.

As long as it doesn't mean just endless de-contenting to reach price targets on remaining ICE products..,..
