Especially since I would imagine the life of the GT500 will be on pause for a while as the NG Mustang rollouts out. The 7.3 gave them hope though. I found the "air filtration" comments for a supercharger to be most comical.

Broncofan7
Good engine choice. I believe this is what most expected for a while. But what variant of F-150 would the 6.8L go into then?

Unless the 6.8 is either 4-valve or opposed valve, IDC. Edited May 18, 2022 by ESP08

TT = Tool Tryout PP = Pilot Production MP1 = Mass Production phase 1 (these are the first customer builds) MP2 = Mass Production phase 2 Job 1 = Full Production Theres a few more that I've seen here and there but I don't remember what they mean. 7Mary3
You would have thought the 6.8L (if it really exists) would be going into the Raptor if nothing else. Starting to wonder about the 6.8L. Again..... Nonetheless the 5.2L in the Raptor sounds like a fine idea!

Maybe a heavy duty f-150 to fill the gap between the current f-150 lineup and the f-250?

If I'm remembering correctly, we were supposed to get info on the raptor r in the first half of this year. But they delayed the trucks reveal due to prototype durability issues. At least they're taking time to resolve that rather than just shoving it out the door like ram did with the TRX.

Oh good so Ford is only duplicating what Ram did over a year ago but with one less liter of displacement. Guys you know some people hear cubic inches more than they hear horsepower. Unless Ford does something special I’m disappointed. Get your warranty tickets out boys.
7Mary3
Knowing Ford, there is probably a warehouse stuffed full of 5.2L's somewhere and nothing to put them in. Just like the old 5.0L and the Explorer.

The people who assume engine size is still the best way to make a performance engine are the same people who think evs are slow, or that manuals will destroy autos at the race track. Durability shouldn't be an issue on these trucks. It seems like they delayed them specifically to make sure there wouldn't be any major durability issues upon launch.
