brag2017
I took the maintenance test around 2002-2003. I was laid off shortly after. I was called back to work about 10 years ago. I don't recall receiving any next steps to enter into the maintenance program but I do recall getting some type of check regarding the program while on layoff. I'm hearing that my name should be on some type of maintenance seniority list but nobody at my plant knows anything about it. Does anyone have any info or contact info that can lead me in the direction to find something out?
Decker
20 years ago, skilled trade aptitude test taken. Followed by 10 years of non active employee status. Followed by 10 years of active employee status. No knowledge of an assigned date of entry. Interesting Good luck
67cougar289
Well, I’ve got some bad news for you. Even though Ford and the UAW agreed to compile a list of everyone that had passed that test, they never actually made the list. I filed a grievance that made it all the way to third stage, only to have the UAW to tell me that it was ‘without merit’. Sounds a lot like negotiating in bad faith on our behalf, in my opinion. I’m gonna see if the NLRB can do anything for me on it. If not, I’m seeking legal counsel.
67cougar289
Kinda odd how the words tested list are in quotation marks, huh?
cal50
To be honest they should make some of the existing trades people take a skills assessment.

The IRCP classes to get on the waitlist are ridiculously easy. If you can pass 5th grade math you’re on the list.

cal50
When NASA put things in orbit and sent men to the moon it was picking the best people for the jobs. ( No diversity and inclusion BS) ALL jobs should be filled by the best candidates regardless of race , gender , etc. Hiring a person solely based on race , gender or color is just as wrong and NOT hiring a person for the same reasons.
