Build Error from Plant. How can this be? Really?

Hello.

So I ordered a new 2022 Ford Expedition Limited with the Stealth Performance Package, 304A.This truck was ordered as soon as it could be ordered.

So early in fact that I was worried that possibly not all the options would be available however it arrived at the dealership with all options ordered. Sort of...
I pull in to see my new Expedition sitting there and guess what I see is missing, the red calipers on the front as that is all I could see at that point.

I park my Ford Explorer only to now see that the rear calipers are in fact red. What? For a minute there I thought maybe it was built with a 303A package but no, it has the 304A.
So not only was the truck a "misbuild" from the factory but even my dealership didn't notice the front calipers were the standard silver and not the red as they should have been.

WTF.....Grr. Wait, it's get's better.

Speak with the Parts Manager who does some digging to find out that the one side red caliper ("They have lots in stock") is available however the other side is on back order. So, they have lots of one side and zero of the other side. How can that be? Would they not order these in pairs? And, why would you stock so many? How many people are going to need these?
Geez. Anyone from Ford here? Please help as Sales says one thing and Parts says another.

I'm very patient BUT why can't a set of these be pulled from the Kentucky Truck Plant and expedited to my dealership here in Canada?

I've been to another vehicle assembly plant that had an area at the end of the line for incorrect parts that were installed simply to not stop the assembly line process which I understand completely but to actually ship the vehicle from the plant with the wrong parts on it. C'mon..Really?

I'm done venting for now.

Thanks.

Has anyone else had this same issue at all?

UPDATE

The correct original equipment front RED calipers have now arrived at my dealership to replace the standard silver calipers the truck was incorrectly built with.

Three weeks after the Expedition was delivered to the dealer.

This still should not have happened.

Have a great day!

Looking on the positive side, you got your vehicle delivered with 99% of everything you ordered whereas many who ordered six to eight months back were put in the position of having certain options deleted or delayed production of their vehicle for an indeterminate time until those parts, usually chips, became available..  Granted having to take your vehicle in to have a caliper swapped out is aggravating, but at least you had the vehicle in your possession while waiting for the correct part.

Not so much in recent years, but I've seen many goof-ups on vehicles in dealer lots including a Chevy truck with a GMC steering wheel center, and an Oldsmobile (I know I'm dating myself here) with a Cutlass S emblem on one side of the roof and a Cutlass Supreme emblem on the other.  I'm pretty sure that none of these were permanent or affected the vehicle's use and a red caliper won't stop any faster/shorter than a gray one, just look "cooler."

Yes, I hear you and agree.

It is what it is and it certainly could have been worse.

I am very grateful that it arrived at my dealership as ordered.

Last update as of last Friday.

Apparently brake calipers usually arrive with the brackets. Well, guess what? Red one's apparently don't.

So now they have had to order the matching red brackets for my red calipers.

Hopefully they arrive this week so I can pick it up later this week.
We're getting closer.

Have a great day!

Red brake brackets have arrived so now it's just a matter of the service department swapping out the regular silver calipers & brackets for the red correct version.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now!

Have a great day!
