Painting Exhaust

Has anyone tried painting their stock exhaust black using a spray product similar to what is used on a motorcycle?

I have a BAP on order and feel like this in an area that was missing.  Any thoughts or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how that would work.  The exhaust is pretty cool at the tip but the pipe is exposed to road debris and salt in cold climates.  At a minimum you would want to rough up the tip so the paint would stick better.  Good luck.

I used to do it back when I was a detail fiend.  I used black bbq paint and it lasted well.  I do not live in an area with snow or lots of rain though.

you might try engine paint.  It will take any heat that may be present, and it's pretty durable paint.

They make a special exhaust specific paint that will have handle the temps, just wondering if anyone has tried it?  And how it turned out too!

I used the rust oleum 2000 degree spray paint. I did 2 coats each of primer, black and then clear.  I probably wouldn’t do the clear again as I liked the look of the black before the clear.  It’s been about 3 months and no issues. I unbolted the tailpipe and put it on saw horses to spray it. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures during the painting.
