As for airplanes-that is long pole in the tent...the issue is batteries aren't as energy dense as aviation fuel by weight. But of course you conveniently forget that new and better batteries are being worked on where as fossil fuels have more or less met their limitations. 

 

As for your firetruck issue-read here-once again its a task that isn't quite cut out for EV yet-but you cut down on fuel costs considerably.

You have to get out of the mindset that its an either/or thing. EV can work from really good to ok in a big chunk of applications. It about slowly moving to something that removes millions of little engines that pollute and necking it down to power stations that can be controlled easier or replaced by better forms of energy production to help with pollution. 

 

But no you just don't want to change because you saw some stupid misinformation shared on the internet that was designed to derail this or because you don't like the pollical dogma that it is attached to.
