Ovaltine
Also this from Australia, but the discussion is likely applicable here and elsewhere, esp. looking at the current state of the Texas grid - -Ovaltine Edited July 14, 2022 by Ovaltine
Joe771476
And how long can an electric fire truck pump water? Who wants to be the first one to fly on an electric powered Boeing 737?

Who wants to be the first one to fly on an electric powered Boeing 737? As for airplanes-that is long pole in the tent...the issue is batteries aren't as energy dense as aviation fuel by weight. But of course you conveniently forget that new and better batteries are being worked on where as fossil fuels have more or less met their limitations. As for your firetruck issue-read here-once again its a task that isn't quite cut out for EV yet-but you cut down on fuel costs considerably. https://www.wpr.org/madisons-fire-department-tests-out-fire-truck-runs-electricity You have to get out of the mindset that its an either/or thing. EV can work from really good to ok in a big chunk of applications. It about slowly moving to something that removes millions of little engines that pollute and necking it down to power stations that can be controlled easier or replaced by better forms of energy production to help with pollution. But no you just don't want to change because you saw some stupid misinformation shared on the internet that was designed to derail this or because you don't like the pollical dogma that it is attached to. twintornados
The future of airplane travel will change dramatically with new propulsion options or with the advent of synthetic fuel made from organic sources to net the carbon foot print down to zero or close to it.
