Don`t Be Surprised

4 or so months away from the first members voted in IUAW executive board.

13 months away from contract expiration.

Inflation at a 40 year high, recession or whatever it's called started.

Then..... this.

https://twitter.com/SenJohnKennedy/status/1556378108445564928

Everyone on one side of the isle "everyone" votes to raise taxes. Imagine that.

With those UAWD`res at the constitutional convention making all those great "DAM the CONCESSIONS" rants and not really sure there is another convention for their demands (Collective Bargaining Conv.) but they all have our best interest in mine.

Hmm it`s starting to come into focus....  sales decline, companies start the whining, IUAW throws out something we`ve heard before "It`s the best we could negotiate".

All while the UAWD National Chairman takes his mid-day nap and dreams of a union that puts in place the best socialist paradise ever....

Just be happy you're not salary... 8,000 layoffs is not an insignificant number.  Work load is getting unworkable.  Company wants to be more like Tesla in staffing, but they only make 4 different vehicles, with very limited complexity.  Meanwhile complexity is soaring, quality is getting worse, and of course it's all engineering's fault.

Whenever I question retiring, I come to BON to confirm my decision. Hang tough.

The ICE Division of Ford is expected to be the cash cow that floats Ford's EV boat, but they are butchering the engineering and quality functions for the division.  Meanwhile, EVs are being priced way out of the average buyer's budget and Farley admits that materials will be expensive and hard to come by adding more to the cost.  What a winning strategy ?

If your on the waiting list for your not built yet Lightning it will now set you back another $8500..... Our comedian CEO forgot to let everyone how this stuff will be so expensive and hard to get, just to put your next fad together. Oh the other thing our CEO might touch on after your done signing the second mortgage for your EV is the fact "fast charging cuts the average battery life span by close to half".

Footballfan you are so correct the cash cow is falling apart. One underlying facts is the glass house still believes the old line "if you`re a manager you can manage in any department". We have process engineer`s with associates degrees in marketing from on line universities.  As for any background or experience in actual automotive manufacturing that isn`t even asked in the interview process. Then most customers have no idea they are paying not only for the product but they are the unpaid R&D team.

Sure hope your new engineers are getting some OJT. But then who conducts the "Train the Trainer session"?

A while back I was talking to a rep. at an F-150 Raptor showing and I asked how many chips are in an F-150. He told me about 200 were in the average F-150. When they kicked off the Lightning, Farley himself said there was about 3000 in one Lightning. At a 15:1 ratio, that will put a real pinch on the rest of the herd.

Talked to an engineering supervisor, who is retiring in October.  She was moved to a GSR purchasing position, having zero experience in purchasing, and leaving in October.

Systems engineer, who was brought into Ford because of his extensive mfg experience, was moved out of engineering, to a plant to monitor the final test at the end of a transmission line... on midnight shift.

I'm BEGGING for a package, because I'm leaving soon.  Because I joined after pensions, it's essentially a quit for me.

Look at the bright side, at least he should be getting shift premium.. Avoiding higherups and endless meetings are another benefit.

  • 2 weeks later...

It is an amazing time.

Engineering skill level is at lowest point I have seen in a couple decades. Daily parts shortages where the plant can not run a full shift and management not knowing if its the same for tomorrow.

People duck and never respond to emails. Lots of CYA and hiding. Our plant is cutting resources to prosperity........lol

CAP is lost.... but we got our boxes checked.

Box cars full of money sent to the plant through 2019 for the 2020 model. Was it spent as it was reported out to be? Not so much.

ABB has the all-new equipment completely assembled in their facility and running. Send it to the plant and dam the naa we don`t need that or let's hold off on these thingy's, starts. ABB engineers state the programing wasn`t set up for the CAP changes. CAP engineers state umm what? programing?  Shit ain`t ran as planned since day one. :whistling:

CAP engineer`s "Ooooo" that looks cool. Buy it!!! Special Order----> 250K stacker - 25K charger - 30K extra battery.... hmmm it can`t be used with Magna Drums... Opp`s What you mean it`s non-returnable? :read:

You can`t make this shit up
