2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Details Revealed, Prices Increase Substantially

Price increases for the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning vary by trim level, with the range-topping Platinum and XLT High increasing by the least amount – $6,000 – while the XLT equipped with the extended range battery has gotten $8,500 more expensive. Perhaps the most notable jump here belongs to the entry-level, commercial-focused Pro, however, which is now $7,000 pricier, making its original, bargain-basement MSRP of $39,974 a distant memory.

Hate to see it, but the price increase is in line with that of the Hummer EV.  Tesla Model X too.

F-150 Lightning customers won't hesitate to pay the hiked-up prices Ford is asking. At this point, the big issue for Ford is producing enough F-150 Lightning to meet customer demand.

Another price hike took effect recently for F-150 Lightning Pro. Base price is now $55,974, representing an increase of $9,000 compared the figures ice-capades shared back in August. Ford increases F-150 Lightning price, now starts at $56,000 (electrek.co)

I don’t see how sales of these BEVs are not going to be impacted by these continual major price increases once the initial demand decreases.  It will be interesting to see what happens.

The supply/demand situation is what enables Ford to get away with these price increases. Not only is demand currently far in excess of Ford's ability to produce F-150 Lightning (especially the Pro version), there's no sign that demand will decrease. In fact, it's just the opposite. As word gets out about how Lightning is unequivocally the best F-150 ever, demand will continue to increase.

Plus, the 2023 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award for F-150 Lightning will further enhance its appeal.
