Murphys mom
Anyone else go through a turbo charger needing to be replaced? The car has 45k, but I’ve only owned the car for 11 months. I called the dealer and asked if I could bring it in so they could read the code off of the reader because my engine light was on and I wanted to make sure it was safe to drive. I was told if it’s a steady light it’s safe to drive… couldn’t believe it. I went to auto zone and it took 2 minutes!
akirby
It happens but it’s not common. It is safe to drive as long as the light isn’t flashing.
Neal Searle
46k. Under mile warranty, 5 months over warranty. Intermittent engine light. Diagnostics by dealership took FOREVER. $3500. I call Ford. They consider and respond with an offer of 40% paid by Ford. No explanation of why or how determined. I asked for reconsideration. 2 weeks and they responded with 60%. So I’m still on the hook for 40% for a repair that should have been paid 100% IMO. This is not a one-off issue. They know it’s a problem. They just screwed their customer out of $1.4k and I’ll never buy another Ford. And Ford doesn’t care.

You had the option of buying an extended warranty if you wanted more coverage, but you declined. So instead of paying $2500 for an extended warranty you only paid $1400. You’re still ahead $900.
