Ford inspected and then repaired the vehicle through one of its associated dealership repair facilities. After the repair was confirmed to resolve the issue that had caused Ford to reacquire the vehicle, the vehicle was then sent to auction for sale at one of the Ford sponsored auctions closed to Ford Dealers. Each reacquired vehicle was conspicuously labeled as a "Ford Reacquired Vehicle" with an additional label detailing the specific issues that had been repaired. In addition, the Dealer that purchased the vehicle for resale was required to provide complete disclosure to the customer that purchased the vehicle. I haven't been involved in that part of the business for many years now, so perhaps Ford now allows dealerships to purchase the reacquired vehicles rather than them being sent to Ford auctions for sale, similar to how dealerships can purchase their own customers' lease vehicles that are turned in at lease end. I was most surprised that there was no mention of the issues at the dealership, as I took it in for repair probably 6 times before they bought it back.
