Americans aren't going to be able to afford SUV's etc. much longer! The electricity supplier Eversource is charging customers an exorbitant PUBLIC BENEFITS fee to pay for non-paying customers including illegal immigrants. Mine is only $29 because I figured out ways to keep my bill at $65/mo. for two people.  But most people are paying $100 to $200 or more a month for this fee alone!  That could go toward a monthly car payment!  I'm glad they did it BEFORE the election so now people know what to do in November! Anyway, if Toyota sold almost 300K Camrys in 2023, it's not that bad of a segment to be in! If Ford wants to save money, stop continuing to make EV's!!

This is a parody post right?

Aspirational cars…. that's the key. Ford needs to produce cars that people desperately want to have for some reason, whether it's their style, their interior design, some technological feature or some innovative advancement. Now the new Lancia Ypsilon, from the Fiat family (Stellantis), is being launched in Europe. It is a compact hatchback based on others in the group (Peugeot 2008, Citroen C3), but with an exterior and interior design that attracts buyers looking for something different, innovative and elegant. I currently have a beautiful 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA and, even though I love my car, I desperately want to buy that little Ypsilon! This is what a desirable car should be like... and Ford needs that. Some photos of the Lancia

As for money, such decisions sometimes do require sacrifice, but this can allow the company to expand other projects and make them more successful. This teaches us how to manage money wisely. And if in the future you want to try something new or just relax, you can easily try your luck at online games where you can get new member register free 100 philippines if you want. I think it's a great way to have a good time and learn something new. In any case, it's important not only to keep up with trends but also to find ways to adapt promptly and make decisions that will pay dividends in the long run.

It looks really cool. I'd like to see it in person.

Ford CEO Jim Farley Says Company Lost Billions on Sedans

FordAuthority.com_2024-06-12_Ford Fusion.jpg

Ford’s decision to discontinue its sedans in the U.S. a few years ago was one that was met with universal shock at the time, along with plenty of criticism – though some have since defended it. Now, years later, many still question this move, even as hard sales data seems to support it and Americans continue to show a preference for crossovers, SUVs, pickups, and profitable specialty models like off-road-focused trims and variants. In addition to that, it seems as if Ford also lost a good bit of money when it was selling sedans in the U.S., too.

“The reason is very simple – we lost billions on them, and we are not in a position to lose billions on vehicles anymore,” Farley told The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah during a recent podcast. “As a business leader, I don’t believe that the company should allocate capital to vehicles that I know we are going to lose money on, and so we decided to create Mavericks, Broncos, Bronco Sports, and all sorts of other vehicles like the (Mustang) GTD that will make money. Raptors, Tremors, Transit vans, electric vehicles that will make money over time. That is what we do at Ford. It was a judgement call to move out of the commodity part of the market into vehicles that our company wakes up in the morning and does well.”

Ford has remained adamant that it killed off sedans in the U.S. due to declining sales, which makes sense from a business perspective as the company has a finite amount of resources to dedicate to its products. As fellow Blue Oval exec Kumar Galhotra told Ford Authority in an interview back in 2020, “do we want to invest it in a declining segment or do we want to invest it in a growing segment?”

Regardless, it’s unclear if Farley is talking about a specific model here or the automaker’s sedans as a whole, which previously included the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and Taurus. However, while Farley recently dismissed the idea that Ford has considered bringing sedans back to the same market, but also admitted that a four-door version of the Ford Mustang may one day come to fruition, too.

I thought he wants to bring them back now?  They didn't lose money on the Fusion!

Let recent actions over at Dodge be your guide....

True but I was thinking more about Ford’s supplier network and importing parts, they’re going to have to really watch themselves with that.

To be somewhat fair, those were Hackett's move.

It's so wild to me that I see Farley being attacked so often yet Hackett always seems to get a pass when most of the issues Ford has right now are because of him.

I gave up talking about it. I felt like I was the only one and nobody wanted to listen.

It's wild, unless I'm mistaken, Hackett was the one who really gutted Ford's ICE engineering department, there's an argument to be had that his lack of expertise in the auto industry also led to him making decisions that sparked a lot of the quality issues we see today.

His design thinking approach that came in handy for the development of the mach-e and maverick was a great addition to the company, but that's basically the only good thing he did imo.

It's also kind of crazy that the "design thinking" applied to Maverick and then they just sad "eh, we're good, don't need to do that again!"

But at the same time, Ford hasn't had any brand new name plates outside of the Bronco and Bronco Sport since then. Both the Maverick and Mach E where white sheet vehicles

My point is more that they don’t need a new vehicle for it.  Escape has struggled, yet they’ve not taken the same approach to make it a better vehicle.  Granted, a lot has changed since then but still

Ford lost billions of dollars on sedans. So, they discontinued them.  Instead, Ford introduced its own EVs.  And, is soon to introduce even more battery powered vehicles.  Yet, according to what I've read, the e-division has lost $15 billion (with a "b") over the last three years. If ICE sedans were abandoned due to excessive losses, why is Ford doubling down on EVs? I, for one, only drive golf carts on golf courses.  I don't need a glorified golf cart for the highways and streets.

Do not sell the new Ford CE1 short...just because you don't like an EV, does not mean everybody agrees with you. The losses you trot out include the costs associated with ramping up a new way of designing, building, selling and the "after sale" associated with EV....Ford was smart to break them out as separate entities, not for you to pick apart, but to honestly show investors where the gains and losses are....I see those losses going away soon as Ford puts the EV market on it's ear moving forward.
