Andrew L
Hey guys curious if anyone can point me in the right direction. My 2004 Aviator is in dire need of new body mounts. My mechanic is able to locate positions 1 and 3 but 2 4 and 5 are EOL from Ford. He tried reaching out to multiple vendors but is hitting a brick wall. Explorer and Mountaineer body mounts would work, correct? His only worry is they might be a different shape for some weird reason because they have different part numbers. The possibility is that they are just different materials though since a Lincoln is supposed to ride different from a Ford/Mercury. As far as I know the frame and body should be exactly the same on all 3, right? The only difference I can tell are the front and rear body panels/fenders. Suspension from what I remember reading is different but that wouldn't affect the frame really. Any suggestions or ideas?
akirby
I would think they’d be the same or close enough, but hard to say for sure. We had a 2003 Aviator that we liked a lot but ended up trading it on an edge limited in 2008. I got to see the production model early in a focus session where they let us drive it against a X5 and a Honda Pilot.

So far this has been a very good truck I've been driving it to work every day and hasn't let me down at all. Fuel economy has been horrible but it's paid off so I'm 100% fine throwing some money at it. Planning on driving it to SC soon with my gf and dog to my sisters for 4th of July. I'm sure it will be fine but really want the body mounts fixed first. It's annoying to hear that metal on metal sound when stopping or turning. Andrew L
Just an update for anyone following, I was able to find the body mounts on ebay. There's a business on there that has all 5 positions in stock. I messaged them to confirm, and they did. Getting them shipped to my mechanic now and hopefully will have it done soon.
MDBG1056
Curios as to why the need to replace the body mounts ? I just picked up an 05 and examined closely underneath last night and all is in excellent condition but it's also always lived in the south. Mine has lived its whole life in FL and they needed to be done.
