rmc523
2024 Jeep Wagoneer S now fully revealed: Here are full specs, pricing - Autoblog The extreme dive of the actual roofline (not the massive spoiler) looks impractical space wise: I still don't like the use of the Wagoneer name on this - just doesn't make sense. The first thing I thought of when I saw the rear was the Toyota Venza:

The first thing I thought of when I saw the rear was the Toyota Venza: I think it looks good but I’m not sure I would pay $71k plus for it. I’m with you that the Wagoneer name does not fit this vehicle. Regarding the roofline, perhaps it’s an optical illusion where the sheet metal is rising up as the roofline flows downward, and the interior space isn’t diminished as m as it appears.

Its losing a decent amount of space with having that extremely sloped roofline at the back vs a typical 2 box vehicle.
atomcat68
So is the current Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer going to become the Grand Wgoneer and this is the Wagoneer without the "Grand?"
Dequindre
Meh, looks like a Range Rover Velar.

DeluxeStang
I'm not normally a jeep person, the wrangler looks like a tractor, and drives even worse than one. But I'm digging this. It's incredibly sleek and eye catching. That sloped roofline might not be very practical, but I'll forgive it due to how cool it looks. That feature with the air bridge rear spoiler looks like something you'd see on a concept, that would get canned for production, very bold choice. If I was ever in the market to buy a jeep, this would probably be it.

No. This is the "Wagoneer S" the S is part of the name. The Wagoneer is still the "regular" version of the large Expedition/Navigator size model, targeting more on the Expy side of things, while "Grand Wagoneer" is the luxury version of that targets more on the Navigator side of things in one vehicle. Like I said, the usage of Wagoneer doesn't really fit here, IMO.
Andrew L
Is the long term goal here to split Wagoneer off as it's own brand or a sub brand of Jeep? Seems odd to slapt the Wagoneer name on this.

Seems odd to slapt the Wagoneer name on this. What’s odd to me is the existing wagoneer is not referred to as a Jeep (seemingly intentionally) where as the EV is referred to as a Jeep Wagoneer S (at least in press). I haven’t dug into whether that’s intentional or lazy press (I still see the truck referred to as a “Dodge Ram” from time to time.)
rmc523
Here's Why Jeep Ditched The Wagoneer Sub Brand (carbuzz.com) I didn't even realize apparently Jeep is ditching the Wagoneer sub brand idea.....which makes the idea of naming this model "Wagoneer S" even more confusing. Maybe that Wagoner doesn't have a future and is a one generation model. They pretty much can serve that customer base with the 7 seat Grand Cherokee. I think customers have just been confused (rightfully so) by the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer delineation. Because they're not consistent - for example, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee were always separate models of completely different sizes. But then Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer are "regular" and luxury versions of the same model.....it'd have made more sense had the Wagoneer been the SWB model and Grand Wagoneer the LWB model. The rumors are also that the current Durango will become Stealth, and "Durango" will become a Dodge version of Wagoneer.

Some brands aren't cut out to sell a vehicle to compete with Tahoe/Suburban or Expedition. Jeep has a seven seat GC and more customers who shop Jeep may be more happy with that. Jeep is choking on product that is too expensive, and I think they really need to reevaluate the need to produce the Wagoneer as it is. Hyundai also could develop a utility to compete with Tahoe but their customer base also won't bite and will be happy being served by the 7 seat Palisade.
