phillykorean
Hey everyone I bought a 2005 Lincoln Navigator base model a few weeks ago, I want to register it in my state since I purchased out of state but the check engine light turns on I used an obd2 code reader and these codes show up: p0446, p0022, p0345 and p0349 codes and shakes when stopping then slow acceleration The car has 194k miles. When you first start the car only p0446 turns on and after driving for 30 mins the car starts to shake and it feels like a stuttering and you can feel it more at red lights or in stopped traffic and then when I'm accelerating the car is very slow to get to 30 mph I am revving the rpm to get there Edited July 31, 2024 by phillykorean
Flying68
The p0446 is most likely a bad vapor canister purge valve, but it could be almost anything related to the evaporative emissions control. I have had to replace a purge valve on my 2012 explorer. The other 3 codes are related to the cam position sensor on intake bank 2, sensor "A". Probably a bad sensor based on age, but could be a more serious problem with cam phasing or timing. The purge valve code will always be present until you replace it. The low power, stuttering, is because the ECM has no clue where the cam is and is pulling back or causing misfires.
phillykorean
I took it to the Ford dealership and they said that cylinder 5 and cylinder 7 has low oil pressure so it isn't firing correctly causing the shaking and the cam sensor codes the car has 194k miles original engine. They were telling me they recommend getting a "newly rebuilt"engine made from Ford and quoted $9350 for just parts. I think that is a but ridiculous but need to see how to rebuild it or get a used engine from a seller. No leaks or other issues just got an oil change last week from the dealership. The body does suffer from rust but not on the frame.
