Ford Everest Tremor

With Ford not pushing Ranger volumes and Edge dead it would be nice to see Everest added to MAP.  Won’t happen though.

Would that overlap too much with the bronco and cannibalize sales from it though? That's the question. It's more refined than the bronco, but less aspirational, so how would you price that?

I think this looks really good, and different enough from the Bronco that it wouldn’t dramatically impact it.  Since it is the same chassis, presumably, it shouldn’t matter if numbers shifted back and forth between the Bronco and the Everest coming down the same assembly line.

This would make a good 4Runner competitor.

A little but I think Bronco buyers want the Bronco styling and removable top.

I could see a potential market for the Everest here. But for people who wanted a more refined body on frame suv, I think it would be a good idea for Ford to explore doing a fixed roof bronco with more premium materials. The bronco just had really strong brand recognition, Ford should build on that. Especially when it feels like Ford's kinda fallen on their face in this last year or so when it comes to doing new bronco trims.

This right here. Removable top is the main thing for most bronco buyers. I’ve suggested a fixed roof over on 6g and basically got laughed at lol.

That Tremor looks great to me, and much better than Bronco.  Admittedly, I’m not a Bronco fan, and rarely see one driving around, so assume not many fans near me.  Maybe they are more popular in mountains or out West.  Tremor looks like it would have greater mass appeal IMO.

I don't need a Tremor.  But looks wise, I'd prefer this over the Explorer.  Not that I consider the Explorer bad/ugly...

The Everest is pretty much what the Explorer used to be.
Roughly the same size as the fourth gen (2006-2010) Explorer, with the ruggedness of the 90s models.

They could always sell the non-Tremor version for less overlap, and it's a fixed-top 5+2 seater. If you think about it, the Everest and Bronco are further apart from each other than the 4Runner and Land Cruiser 250 Series (aka Prado).

The regular Everest in Trend (aka XLT) trim with 255/65R18 tires.

I see a metric boatload of Broncos around here. Not quite as many as Teslas (I’ve even seen some Cybertrucks), and I’ve seen so many Porsches that they’re no longer exotic. I’d say I’ve seen about as many Broncos as Mercedes, and those things are common as dirt around here.

Broncos' have absolutely swamped northern Michigan since the July 4th weekend.  Not surprising, all of the downstate Detroit-area vacations "UpNorth" during the summer, and bring along their Broncos' so they can drive on a real dirt road.  Thankfully they all go back home come Labor Day.

It goes back to Ford specifically developed Bronco for the North American market and Everest as the continuing ROW SUV.

So Ford would be very mindful of spending all that money and then adding an internal competitor that costs a lot less.

Well, that’s the way it was explained to me.

Funny story,

Ford team developed VW Amorok with V6 diesel and a 2.3 EB option, VW thought it was going to be allowed to sell it in North America until the Ford US boss put his foot down and said a flat no to the idea, that’s when VW went off and bought the Scout brand name……

I kinda think a US Amorok would be neat and add to Ford’s production volumebut that’s us knowing its origins, some of the VW fans swear up and down all their own design….

Just of Everest Tremor, every time Ford Australia adds a new higher priced model, the buyers seem to jump at it,

quite the opposite of other competitor Thailand specials who seem to struggle commanding premium prices.

I take my hat off to Ford Australia, they pushed really hard with Ranger and Everest and are seeing good sales.

Thats why I hope that Ford sets up a C2 production line in Thailand for our market, getting vehicles from Europe

is just so hard now, they changed emissions rules and won’t supply IcEs until our fuel goes to low sulphur in

18 months time.

Utah is basically the state to be for off-roading, you see them everywhere you look here. With how strong Jeep's presence is here, I was wondering if the bronco would really take off despite all the Wrangler loyalists. It's basically destroyed the Wrangler. Despite being the capital for off-roading, the ratio of broncos to new wranglers is like 20 to 1 out here from what I'm seeing. So it's definitely a hit in the mountainous regions.

Absolutely and perhaps at the extreme off roading, the Wrangle probably pips the Bronco but as

a day to day on road vehicle, Bronco smokes Wrangler hands down, the Ecoboost engines are a joy.

The fact that Wrangler sales are struggling probably shows that like Bronco, it’s not immune to a slow down

but maybe Bronco can endure and actually strengthen sales when the economy turns around…

The thing is as well, while the Wrangler might have the advantage when it comes to low speed rock crawling, the bronco seems to handle high speed desert running a lot more effortlessly. So even off the pavement, the bronco takes it in some areas.

Add in the better looks, much better quality/reliability, and improved road manners as you mentioned, and the bronco is the no brainer option as an all around vehicle.

I agree that Ford should build C2-based models in Thailand.  These can be sold in Asia-Pacific, Middle East,  South Africa, and even South America.
