Who are the people that think customers want this garbage?

Again for those not paying attention- it doesn’t mean they’ll implement it.  It means they could do it but also if someone else wants to do it they have to pay Ford.  Large companies do just in case patents all the time.

I understand how patents work.  My comment applies to any companies that think it is a good idea.

Who in the right mind would want their car to eavesdrop on them and then bombard them with ads?

Yet another terrible idea which draws negative attention to Ford and yes, I understand it doesn’t mean they’re going to implement it. However, I have read about these last few patents that raise privacy and nuisance concerns in other medium besides here on this forum.  Ford has made public statements about some of them stating they weren’t to be implemented.  If you have to make a public statement that says you’re not going to do “x” thing, it’s not a good look. Stuff like that, combined with the ridiculous amount of recalls that they have, are not great ways to bring in new customers and good way to lose existing customers.

Probably the same folks that have no issue with having "Hey Siri", "OK Google", "Alexa", etc. enabled all of the time.
