Does Anyone Know What Ford's Bringing to the Seattle Auto Show?

Just a guess but most of those auto shows (Atlanta included) are put on by the local dealers and don’t always have factory concepts or pre production models.   A lot of brands have stopped going altogether and who can blame them.

It's a catch-22. Fewer brands are on display at auto shows because of the decline in attendance, because fewer brands are on display, because of the decline in attendance...

The Twin Cities has (had?) the ninth largest auto show in the country and the Greater Minnesota Auto Dealers Association (GMADA) has bolstered this show with an increase of dealer representations and third party exhibitors, including powersports dealers and Xcel Energy. They had a FAQ section and several BEVs in their own exhibit; no Rivians or Teslas, though. 😉

Just in case someone has knowledge...the parking and what-not plus my admitted disinterest in most things EV make it a tough sell. That said, if the GTD is there...it, and various high-dollar exotica that always are displayed at these events might be worth a ticket.

Am I wrong to believe that in Seattle there are many who would be interested in an EV?. It's an outdoorsy-environmental aware type of group that live there-isn't it? I have visited two or three times.

Beautiful area, great walking town when it's not raining.

Absolutely.

Electric vehicles (EVs) accounted for 17.2% of monthly new vehicle registrations in the Seattle area in January 2023 — up from 8.4% in January 2022.

  • All told, the Seattle area saw 2,722 newly registered electric vehicles in January.

The big picture: The Seattle region's adoption of EVs has far outpaced the nation's.

Seattle's had massive crime issues, coupled with many of their police leaving after certain optics trends in recent years. Citing "lack of respect from city leadership" as a leading reason to seek work elsewhere, they've relegated Seattle's police to less than half of what it reportedly needs to be.

Hence, I don't like venturing in from my 'burb much. I may leave this area altogether soon, as the whole coast's "leadership" is horrific.

I recently went there to attend my grandfather's funeral. Absolutely stunning city, so green and lush. I actually don't mind the overcast because it makes the trees stand out even more. If housing wasn't insanely expensive there, I'd move there in a heartbeat.
