When average buyers see vehicles getting more and more expensive, do they realize a part of the increase is indirectly due to EVs?  I doubt many do.

 

Look at what is going on in the EU-ICE/HEV prices will go up to make people not buy them and encourage EV sales which would be at a similar price point. The increase in price on ICE/HEV is a punishment tax.
