meweehaa
Just bought this truck (2024 F-250 Lariat with all the bells and whistles) and I am trying to determine what kits i need to order. I have been to three different dealers trying to get part numbers without any real luck. It looks like 2022 and back used a kit that included everything but now it is all split up. My truck came with the 5th wheel package and had the yaw cable with it. As best i can tell it only gets used with 5th wheels and i am pulling a bumper pull trailer, correct me if I am wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
road turtle
It's not well supported. I'm kicking myself for not keeping the packages that my kit came in. I had to replace a wheel TPMS sensor, and local dealer parts dept and I spent better part of an hour trying to identify the correct replacement part number. IRC it's a combo trailer/5th wheel kit. Good luck!
bobvr1956
Is that all we got? I'm in the same boat. A six figure truck that can't be used as intended. Mine is a King Ranch, but the issues are the same. Max tow 5th wheel prep. Just doing a tag allong for now.
Myron
I just got my 2024 F-350 Lariat with the Max tow 5th wheel package, had a 2018 F-350 that did not. I tow a Keystone Montana 3971RD fifth wheel, I bought and installed Ford OEM Part # LC3Z-1A189-C Super Duty TPMS Kit without Pro Trailer Backup Assist which came with the trailer wiring harness, (4) TPMS Sensors (Part # LC3Z-1A189-D), TPMS Module , a trailer connector docking station, and for the truck the New 7/12 trailer tow connector and the wiring harness to connect to the truck. Once I installed it, I had to take my rig to a tire facility to train the TPMS sensors to the truck for the initial setup, it worked perfectly. I hooked up my new F-350 to my fifth wheel and the TPMS system works great the part number for the TPMS KIT changed to LC3Z-1A189-EG in 2023. If you install this system and do not want to go to a shop or dealer to have the TPMS sensors trained, you can order an AROZK TPMS19 TPMS Reset Tool for around $13 from AMAZON, I did the initial setup on my 2024 with it. Once you disconnect your trailer your trailer TPMS system shuts off, so when you reconnect you will see (--) for tire pressure, don't be alarmed, when you start down the road they will connect again. I'm now looking at getting the Trailer Mounted Camera Part Number LC3Z-1A189-FG, however I'm trying to find out if it can remain on while driving so it can be used as a rearview mirror or if it will just come on while in reverse (backing up)? If anyone knows I'd appreciate the advice.
Lord of Lights
Here is my experience with the TPMS/Camera kit I installed on my 5th wheel. I have a 2022 F350 Lariat. Love my truck. IT HAS THE SYNC 4. TPMS works the same as you describe yours. The camera (hardwired) works like this: When the truck is put into reverse, the center screen brings up the tailgate camera. Always. There is a physical button above the center screen, looks like a camera, R/S. When you push the button, choose the aux camera. that brings up the trailer camera. When traveling on the road, push the same button, and the center screen shows the back of the trailer, great for passing. Push it again, and the center screen reverts back to normal. I hope this helps, and the explanation is clear.
