Sherminator98
Saw this on Facebook and figured it was worth a share-it was going over Fords involvement with building the T-48 aka M48 Patton tank starting in 1952. The M48 was also built by Chrysler defense in Delaware, which built the Duragano up until 2010 I think. I used to live about 30 minutes from that plant.
7Mary3
Very interesting. I believe Chrysler designed the M-48 and built most of them, but Ford assembed a number of them as well. Ford design the M-247 York self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, but the less said about that one the better. Ford build a lot of M-4 Shermans during WWII.
Joe771476
I had trouble pasting it here. But just type into your browser: Dual engine 1941 Ford truck that hauled B24 bombers for sale. I'm sure you'll find it. Here it is: Dual-Engine 1941 Ford Trucks Built to Haul B-24 Bomber Parts Listed for $1.25M Edited February 24 by Joe771476
Sherminator98
Ford also built a huge number of Pratt and Whitney engines during the war.... I had a link to a website that had what different auto manufactures built during the war but I can't find it in my bookmarks
