No joke, There's an Aƒƒ for every seat- 2010-2013 Aston Martin Cygnet, Based on a Smart Car, was Warwickshire's answer to Euro Urban traffic:

Isn’t that a Toyota instead of Smart Car?  Anyway, Toyota’s new solution to urban traffic and overcrowded roads is considerably smaller, and much more efficient. 😀

Others have similar vehicles with 4 wheels that look much better.  Battery electric makes extreme downsizing much easier.

Correct. it was Yaris-based. re: i-ROAD I'd be the guy to pull up next to one and tip it over

Believe it was Toyota iQ which is considerably smaller than Yaris.  I recall some of the details came up during a discussion on vehicles still weighing under 2,000 pounds so they could be flat towed easily.  The iQ wasn’t much longer than Smart but IIRC had a tiny rear seat.  Just happen to see this morning that Toyota is still playing with tiny cars, this one a City low-speed electric Micro car.  It’s too slow to be practical, but shows they are still considering or pursuing personal mobility.  The FT-ME is short enough to park crosswise, much like BMW Isetta.

Correct again. I'm going to quit while I'm ahead!😁
