Lincoln has another new President

Joaquin Nuno-Whelan Replaces Dianne Craig As President Of Lincoln

Back in November 2022, Ford announced that Lincoln CEO Joy Falotico would be retiring, with Dianne Craig set to take her place. Since then, Lincoln’s strategy has changed considerably, shifting away from EVs and toward a pair of new models that haven’t yet been revealed. Now, a little over two years after taking over the reins of Ford’s luxury brand, Dianne Craig has also opted to retire following a 38-year career at Ford Motor Company.

Craig will retire at the end of April, and will be succeeded by Joaquin Nuno-Whelan. Craig has held a variety of roles within Ford’s ranks, including president of International Markets group, president of Ford of Canada, and chief executive officer at FordDirect. At Lincoln, she has overseen the successful launch of the redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, the all-new 2025 Lincoln Navigator, and helped the brand achieve it best U.S. sales results in 17 years. As for Nuno-Whelan, he takes over the top role at Lincoln with 25 years of global experience in vehicle and technology development after joining Ford in 2024 as the Vehicle Program Director for full-size utilities.

Well I hope he looks at Tahoe, Escalade and the GMC versions with their crisp looks instead of the current "chunky"-can't think of a better word-look  then they currently have.  this guy came from Riviana?  If so look at the Rivian SUV too..also much better IMO than the Lincoln versions.

I hope that they actually have some sort of plan for Lincoln.

It seems like they barely have one for Ford, let alone Lincoln.....just sucks that it seems every time the brand starts to hit a stride, they hang it out to dry for a few years.

Agree, I hope there is some plan for the next years. The Nautilus has created a nice path to follow but they need to keep the momentum. The new Navigator matches the Nautilus but doesn't bring anything new into the equation in terms of tech or innovation

Don't get me started lol…..just compare it with the Escalade and you will have your answer

I'm guessing Ford doesn't care? The Escalade is the Escalade and Ford seems to content with Lincoln being just Lincoln and not following or competing with Caddy.

Lot of truth in that..look at the 2010-19 SHO?  I had one great car..can say that I never saw a separate add  of any type. In 2020 (?) I had like 120,000 trouble free miles on it and sold it to a relative-who still has it. But before that I started looking for a CPO 2018-19 SHO.  Nothing here in Northeast Then someone on this site suggested I look for a Fusion Sport or a 3.0 MKZ..Found a CPO 3.0, never knew anything about it ....Then I start reading all these online posts about what an unbelievable vehicle this 400HP AWD was..a true sleeper! Agree..another example of a vehicle ignored by Ford marketers.  Last year I bought an extended Ford warranty package and I'll never hit it..in part because I love driving my Coyote 150.  But my sons can decide what to do with it someday😎

It is nice to see that Lincoln has a “mantra” and is pursuing it but you cannot forget to compete and ignore while you are at it.

Its cheaper for Ford to cater to its buyers then to try and convert over Caddy or BMW drivers or whatever, like Caddy was trying to do for years and never got much traction in doing so.

As Andrew says, Air Suspension, also a hybrid would be nice.

Also some of the Escalade's current features: AR navigation, night vision, and soft close (and even automatic closing) doors, also, as I have said before the 48in looks good in the Nautilis but not as much on the Navi, specially considering the Escalade has a 55in. The wow-factor that Lincoln got with the 48in in the Nautilus, hasn't been the same with the Navi

I agree with your point but then again, the current sales level indicates that there is a lot to still be done. Also the situation in China isn't good lately

There isn’t enough Nav/Expy volume to justify a huge investment beyond what they already have.  Plus the factory is still constrained by Super Duty.   GM has bigger volume to protect so it invests more.

I don’t believe the objective differences are a big issue for most buyers.

I wonder if the new president will be in favor of electrifying the lineup. If I remember correctly, Lincoln had decided EVs were a no-go for now.
Cadillac is supposedly phasing out their ICE models save for the Escalade. I could see Lincoln trying to match that, or taking pride in having a full ICE/hybrid lineup.

Seriously, a Lincoln CEO is just “minding the store” and will sell whatever products are made available by Ford.

That’s been the case ever since Ford went balls to the wall on EVs.  Gotta cut something.

Oh, I was referring to much longer than that but yes, absolutely, the switch to BEVs

has really dried up the pipeline for Lincoln

Is there any new intel on what the two new Lincoln models are?

Take it with a grain of salt given the source, but Borg implies that the Mach E-based model has seemingly reappeared.
