rmc523
I didn't realize Autoweek was still around lol. I'll give Hyundai credit, they're not afraid to put out ....unique designs these days.

Back when they changed their print version to bi-weekly I said they had to change their name to AutoEveryOtherWeek…… Is there still a print version? I really liked it back in the early 2000s. I eventually let all of the subscriptions lapse, but Autoweek, which I kept.

I remember being excited to check the mailbox to see if the latest edition had come yet. They went downhill toward the end, with 50% being ads, 20% being motorsport and like 10% being new car articles.....there was lucky to be one story on new vehicles to read about, plus with most stuff being online now, you'd get the magazine and you'd have already read the review online. That said, it's sad that some review sites (cough Autoblog, cough) have resorted to AI junk now.

I think they try to push things too far and then their designs age quickly. Kia, on the other hand, are the opposite, fortunately.
Rick73
Not a fan of appearance either though not horrible. The front especially looks too blunt for my taste (too non-aero like a truck). In the 3-row class I’d go with the Honda Pilot instead, though getting older and doesn’t offer hybrid IIRC. Pilot looks more traditional which I prefer. Speaking of hybrids, I’m somewhat surprised Hyundai is using a 4-cylinder turbo with 2 electric motors in 6-speed auto transmission according to their video. Previous Hyundai hybrids use one electric motor in 6-speed auto. Their targeted fuel economy is good but not great, though probably due more to turbo engine in lieu of Atkinson, and also that Palisade probably has a lot of aerodynamic drag at speed. Will be interesting to see how it does at steady 75 MPH when tested.

Though this one is less offensive than some of their other models.

T-dubz
I didn’t care for this design when it was first debuted but it’s slowly growing on me.

Peak Hyundai and Kia styling was when they mastered ripping off the look of premium brands around 2012. Up until maybe the late 2010s, they had a really good looking lineup. Now they're ruining it again. The N74 concept is great, and apparently coming to production, the Iconic 5 is a solid looking 80s inspired retro hatchback, and the k9 is a striking sedan. But beyond those 3, there really isn't anything great in their lineup in terms of design.
