Help needed on special build mustangs

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, had to start a new account but i used to be on here years ago lurking the mustang info back in the 00s. Im looking for help from any former dap employees or anyone with knowledge of the "show" buc stamped cars, internal code was 9000. These were cars that got extra attention on the assembly line during the build process. ive talked to a few former svt engineers and plant workers who verified most of the process which was essentially the same line prep that an internal ford vehicle would receive. additional clear coat and paint was applied to the jams and the plant manager had to sign off on the car before it could get the OK to ship. ive been able to find 5 other 03/04 terminator cobras in total over the past ten years that received this package and have the line build sheets and stamped "show" buc tags to prove it but was hoping to find anyone here who may know of any more of the cars or roughly how many were built or info pertaining to the builds. My particular car is a mineral grey terminator coupe that was a special build for a man diagnosed with a rare cancer as his last wish was to order a cobra. the car has some hand written notes on the control arm by the assembly line workers along with a sheet of paper they signed and left in the car. Any help appreciated gentleman!

That's a pretty awesome Cobra - and some cool build history as well.  I have a 2008 GT500KR, which was also built as a show vehicle.  Aside from what you mentioned, Flat Rock built ones had extra hot melt sound deadening from Mazda applied inside.  Not sure if Dearborn-Rouge did that with their show vehicles or not?
