michelejo
My 20yo daughter's 2019 Ford Edge has a faulty purge valve, confirmed by diagnostics, check engine light and Ford Pass messages. Our local dealer was beginning the process of getting it covered (waived their diagnostic fee after we explained why we thought it'd be covered, and after they did some research; had to speak to service manager as the advisor told us to pound sand) but we had to move out of state before they had completed the process and appeal. Our new local dealer won't submit it to see (again) if it'd potentially be covered. If they submit and it's denied, we can appeal. I'm looking for documentation I can provide so I'm not simply complaining because I "think" it should be covered. Deep searching seems to reveal that it often IS covered but seems to be hit or miss. I haven't been able to find any service bulletins or notes pertaining to the Edge specifically (stating that the EVAP purge valve is part of the system of covered components) and hoping someone has gone through this successfully recently with a similar model/year. She can't register it in our new location without fixing it. We're trying to follow the process to get a waiver to give her more time to figure out the most cost-effective way to repair it, if we ultimately can't get Ford to approve it but I think we should try. Thanks for any help anyone might have!
