The building is definitely more welcoming from the front exterior than the Glass House. I like the curved facade.

Yea, good point. But the BJ's store nearest the new FoMoCo world headquarters is 9 miles away in Taylor, and the nearest Costco store is 9 miles away also, in Livonia

The Ford blue oval? I was thinking to myself that it would suck if they somehow accidently shipped it upside down or something like that when they installed it LOL

Personally, I think it's ugly.  I saw a photo where F o r d is sticking up out of the ground.

My guess was it's either one that goes on the building that they were waiting to put on until they opened?  Or maybe it's just in the plaza?

I think we're seeing the back of it, which is why it looks weird.....like I said above, looks like it's meant to be mounted to the building, and maybe they were doing a ceremonious "wait till they open the place" to put the oval on.

Yea, the new HQ is an attempt in reforming Ford's corporate culture. Anyone who works or has worked for the company, salaried or hourly, knows that could use a LOT of improvement.

 

"Ford's new headquarters is the polar opposite of the Glass House, which was built for a command-and-control management style," said John McElroy, host of "Autoline After Hours." "Instead of a highly structured layout with long, straight rows of offices and cubicles on each floor, the 'Hub' features free-flowing traffic patterns that wind and bend in different directions through different departments."

 

The design is meant to encourage a lot more interaction and collaboration among employees, McElroy said, calling it "a well thought through design that has the potential to change the culture of the company — all for the better."

In 6 months they’ll remove half the lights, followed by the coffee machines then the water fountains.

They will wait until the have the data on what percentage of the people are using those devices, so they can decide if they keep the pay the same and remove those or decrease the pay and keep them.

That particular Costco is a dump. The better one is a little further away at 8 Mile and Haggerty on the Livonia/Northville border.

Both of the Livonia Costcos suffer from Livonia's idiocy of not allowing Costco a liquor license. Banning liquor sales is not driving me to the local Livonia party stores, Livonia City Council. Instead, I'm going to the Costco in Commerce or Ann Arbor and spending my dollars there.

aww I DESPISE the Ann Arbor one. I go to the one in Brighton now after I moved.
