Sherminator98
https://fordauthority.com/2025/12/ford-escape-lincoln-corsair-production-ends-this-week/ Should be interesting how the Escape sales/stock dwindles down over the next year.
rmc523
I wonder when we'll see an announcement regarding Corsair being imported.

They still have Darts that pop up and I think it ended production in 2016 lol. 2
Dequindre
I am not too sad to see the Escape go, but the Corsair is a competitive vehicle for the class. Hopefully the import plans for the Corsair come to fruition.
ANTAUS
The chinese Corsair has a hell of a better interior with the almost pillar to pillar screen, would love for it to come stateside...

Knowing Ford, they'll chop the passenger side off for the US lol. Though with Nautilus and Navigator now having the full width setup, maybe we'll get lucky this time. 1

92merc
I'm betting within a year, we'll be hearing of the Maverick Sport. Basically a replacement for the Escape. But looks like the Maverick. 2 row with the same length as the Maverick has at 200 inches. Which will be slightly longer than the Edge's 183 inches. akirby
I remember when the last Taurus rolled off the line in Atlanta they gave (or sold) it to Truett Cathy the chick-fil-a founder. The factory workers were regulars at his original dwarf house restaurant (that turned into chick-fil-a) near the factory.

Only reason the Maverick is long is because of the bed...otherwise the Interior area (seating) is identical to the Escape. The Explorer is 199 inches long and the Bronco is 190 IIRC. If an Escape replacement happens, it will be around 180-185 inches long.
tbone
Apparently the dealers aren’t too happy about this. What a shocker. This is going to happen, because the vast majority those buyers aren’t transitioning to the suggested products. They aren’t even comparable. I can’t find words for this level of incompetence from the management. The comments are as you would expect. https://fordauthority.com/2025/12/dealers-fear-ford-escape-owners-will-defect-to-other-brands/ I believe Farleys personal desires are clouding his decision making. I cannot wrap my mind around the state of affairs at Ford. 90% of me and my wife's vehicle purchases over the last 35 years have been Fords, and that is likely about to change. I will continue to buy Ford trucks but there isn’t much left for my wife to pick from. https://fordauthority.com/2025/12/ford-ceo-jim-farley-says-automaker-wont-make-cars-for-everyone/ This guy is a clown. I personally believe they’re going to regret abandoning basically every major market other than trucks. I want to be “pleasantly surprised,” but I have very little faith I will be.

Dealerships are self serving organizations and when you change something, of course they are going to bitch about it. I'm pretty sure that they said the same thing with other products that got canceled over the years, but yet Ford and dealerships are still around. akirby
Dealers make money on every sale regardless of whether Ford makes a profit or not. Of course they'll be upset about losing a volume seller. They were upset about losing Fusion until Maverick and Bronco sport showed up with $5K addendums. The grass is always greener on the other side of the region. For some reason, NA gets cheaped-out interiors compared to the same or similar vehicles sold in other markets. If it does come here, I'm betting it won't be the same interior trim level-due to the tariff situation, of course.

Generally speaking the markets are different and some buyers are willing to pay more for certain things than other markets. Local competition and local cultural tastes are big factors. Doesn't mean they're always right about what American buyers want or would be willing to pay for but it's usually a calculated decision. That Chick-fil-a and Dwarf House is now very conveniently located to the Porsche Experience Center. Less than a half-mile from the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta is the Dwarf House. It's where Chick-fil-A got its start in 1946 (additional Chick-fil-A stores wouldn't open until 1967). What makes the Dwarf House different is its menu. Besides the standard chicken fare and waffle fries, the Dwarf House offers burgers, omelets, chicken salad, Southern sides, and according to our creative director, Darin Johnson, a delicious apple pie. At a regular Chick-fil-A, the Spicy Southwest Salad comes with grilled chicken, but that bed of lettuce can mask the guilt of getting a fried-chicken filet instead. You can get whatever protein you want on it, so long as it's chicken.

I'd rather beat up their cars on the track than mine. 2

If they stop at number of recalls, that would likely lead to a different conclusion. Obviously manufacturer’s size and vehicle volume should also be taken into account, but doubt most buyers would. Have to say that GM appears to be doing quite well in this area. 13 hours ago, tbone said: Apparently the dealers aren’t too happy about this. What a shocker. After 25 years of buying Fords (Taurus, Focus, Escape, Edge) there is no replacement product for me, IMO with Explorer being too long for my garage and Maverick interior too cheap feeling to me. I would have purchased another new Edge to replace my '20. It was a difficult decision, but replaced the Edge with a Crown Signia. GearheadGrrrl
Add me to the list of paying customers that Ford has abandoned. I tend to buy a new car every 5 years or so, alternating between light trucks for when I need to haul stuff or camp (Ranger, Transit Connect) and hot hatches for their performance and practicality (Golf TDI, GTI). Ford's hot hatches are long gone and the Mustang Ecoboost is no substitute with its "wrong gear every time" automatic. Maverick Lobo had potential, but Ford needs to share COG data with SCCA so it can autocross, and like Ranger the bed is too short to sleep in. Transit Connect is gone, F150 will fit in my garage but takes up too much space and 20 MPG won't cut it, and the fashionably jacked up Super Duties and Transit won't even clear the garage door. So Ford I'm here, I can afford anything you sell including the GTD, and you have nothing to sell me...
ausrutherford
I know a Ford Lincoln dealer and he confirmed the Corsair will come from China. My guess is that the Maverick based crossover will be called Escape. 2
