Dequindre
I think they're cool looking, but the price and range are both laughable.
twintornados
So, the fallout begins with the elimination of the Government funded subsidies - EVs that don't hold up to scrutiny or expectations will be discontinued and better product will be the result.

Yea, as a customer of two Ford EVs, I can live with that. A pricey EV microbus designed for them aging hippies ain't gonna hold up to scrutiny. On the other hand, more cost effective EV pickup trucks, both body on frame and unibody, is exactly the kind of better product that we should expect. Lookin' forward to Ford's CE1 products and hopefully a new, improved pure electric F-150 Lightning in the years to come. And if Ford manages to design a hippie microbus on the CE1 platform that's cost effective, good for them.

Exactly. They need to stand on their own because they are compelling products, not because they have government subsidies.

morgan20
Volkswagen of America's head honcho says it ain't a permanent buzzkill: Volkswagen Group of America president and CEO Kjell Gruner confirmed the ID Buzz van is not canceled for America and will resume production sometime in 2026 for the 2027 model year. "The ID Buzz remains an important part of the Volkswagen portfolio,” Gruner said, “and I want to be clear: We are not canceling this product in the U.S. market. To optimize inventory, we’re leveraging 2025 models to support our dealers through mid-year, and we’re excited to welcome model year 2027 in 2026.”

They’re odd looking. I never understood the appeal of the buses

We should know more next year with the redesigned id4, ID3, and the ID Polo.
Biker16
I'd love to have one to replace our Transit Connect, but it wasn't a good value due to price and range. Also, because it was imported, it never qualified for the full EV tax credit.
