Joe771476
It's true! It is! Even though Chevrolet used "The heartbeat of America" slogan., Ford is the heart AND soul of the American auto industry and known around the world!

Surprised that the International oils are not high on the list. Like ExxonMobil is listed as a founded date of 1999. That was the merger date for Exxon and Mobil. Of course Exxon was Esso which had its birth as Standard Oil and Mobil's roots sprang from the same place..as Socony..or Standard Oil Of NY.

Joe771476
This is probably a good place to post this. There are a bunch of videos about the Rouge plant, but this is one of the better ones. There's also one about the explosion on Feb 1, 1999. I think all the money Ford has spent and lost on EV's, building a new headquarters and tearing down the old one could have been better spent rebuilding the Rouge plant. The only thing they didn't make were the tires! Ford would be able to put out a car at 50 to 75% of the current prices, blowing away the competition!
