And... call me crazy... I dont think a Bronco Pickup buyer is the same as a Ranger buyer. Those are 2 pretty different customers. I doubt you will see a small time contractor using a Bronco Pickup. I know I know they can get a F150 if need be but Ranger is attractive on price vs an F150. 33k vs 39k.

Idk not a fan of dropping the Ranger for a Bronco Pickup. I think both could work but what do I know.

I don't really have any interest in a Ranger, but the Bronco pickup sounds oddly appealing (no interest in Gladiator).  I can't say I'll for sure go that route in the future, but I'd more likely buy it than a Ranger.

That statement might be interpreted as me saying the Bronco truck should replace Ranger, but my point in mentioning it is that I'm agreeing with your first statement that I don't think Ranger and Bronco truck buyers necessarily overlap.

If a Bronco pickup has removable doors, removable roof and the other hard core off-road characteristics that the Bronco does, then I agree and don’t think the buyers overlap. If the bronco pickup only carries forward the styling traits of the Bronco (like Bronco Sport) then I could see Ranger customers moving to it.

When I hear Bronco truck, my first thought is like Gladiator - a Bronco front end/cab with a bed on it.

I did propose the idea of it being a Bronco "Sport Trac" - Bronco Sport-based unibody with a bed, but I also feel that's too similar to Maverick, and it doesn't make sense for them to put a C2 product in a new factory when they just closed (revamped to CE1) a C2 factory.  I also don't see this appealing to Ranger customers.

Removable doors is WAY overblown. Anything Ford currently builds technically could have removable doors, you just have to know how to do it and you’ll have to listen to door ajar alarms 😂

I’d much prefer a bronco truck to a ranger, although I’m scared to see what the price would be 😆. Here are some quick ai renders. I think it looks pretty good. I would stick to a fixed roof for the truck though. maybe give it T-tops or just a large sunroof. Regular doors too.

Doesn't look bad, though don't know if it'd have a connected bed like that.

WTH-Camo stickers over stickers? LOL

I see the Ford badge got camo'd too-its like someone was bored and decided to slap random shit on it.

Yeah, I thought it was funny they just stuck stickers over the Tremor badges.

So take it with a grain of salt but Borg reported today on GMI that Ranger is in fact dead and being replaced by a Bronco Pickup

Ford should probably take a good look at how Ranger has performed in North America versus the Jeep Gladiator before they drop the Ranger. I have a 2026 Ranger Raptor and I don’t see any reason it should be discontinued and replaced by a Bronco pickup that will only be attractive to a small group of customers. Also, some talk about an F100 to be a more mainstream replacement, but why drop a legendary nameplate with cool models like the Raptor to just make a generic F100?

Your looking at this through your own lens,so I'll help explain its pretty easy to understand:

MAP will lose the Ranger, gain a Bronco Pickup and the Lincoln Bronco. I'd expect the Lincoln Bronco to sell maybe 20K units a year and the rest of the production can be used for the Bronco and Bronco Pickup. The Bronco Pickup will sell or should sell at a higher ATP then the Ranger does now.

Tennessee Truck needs product.

The "Ranger" moves there and goes through a major change into the F-100. It will still be built on the T6 platform like the Ranger, but will gain HD variants based on the Ranger SD plus other body styles that will help support Ford Pro sales. It will be akin to a 3/4 F-150 or 5/4 Ranger-at least that is the way I'm seeing this is going to work.

I'm guessing what ever the Ranger has in the NA market now will directly transfer over to the F-100 for customer sales aka the Raptor etc aren't going way.

The midsized market looks like it will be getting more crowded in NA and Ford needs to do something with the Ranger to make it more appealing to buyers since it is in third place, I'm guessing they want at least second place, but beating the Tacoma is going to be a slog for them.

Not to mention its possible that VW also gets a pickup from TTP since they have been speaking about importing one-I don't think Ford is fond of that idea and the new F-100 would be a significant upgrade over Amrok or whatever its called vs being just a badge engineered Ranger.

I'm also going to assume this:

The F-150 low end models will either rise in price or models that where sold on the lower to fleet sales will be picked up in some cases by the F-100 SD where appropriate. I see plenty of cases where an F-150 is complete overkill for certain situations.

I'm sure the F-100 will see some price increases also (Ford has said whatever is going there is going to be affordable aka under $40K)

This will allow the Fathom and Maverick growth in price, if necessary also. I'm assuming the Fathom is going to be a bit larger then the Maverick but not as big as the current Ranger. It has its own "shortcomings" as an EV that work against it, but I'm also hoping it will win over some converts too.

I see the Lincoln “Bronco” failing in the market. Lincoln as a brand is on life support and I don’t see it attracting people who want European luxury SUVs like Mercedes and Land Rover. If the F-100 is based on the ROW Ranger SD I see it as mostly a commercial product. I suppose the thought is that most consumers will go to the Bronco pickup, but when looking at things like payload and towing it’ll likely be limited considering the Bronco SUV. Also it’s going to be heavier than the Ranger and Ford will likely continue with a standard 2.3 EcoBoost so performance will take a hit. I think the Fathom might do ok, but the current political environment in the US is not very favorable to EVs. If they can keep the price down that might make it more attractive for city use type situations.

I don’t have access to Ford’s actual plans like it sounds you do. I really think splitting the BOF midsized up isn’t going to do a lot for sales. If the whole idea of the F-100 is to make a truck that competes and is priced closer to the F-150 people will just get an F-150. Also, I would assume that all of the cool editions (Raptor, Tremor, etc.) of a midsized would go to the Bronco pickup and not an F-100 since it sounds like according to you it’s being positioned as mostly a commercial vehicle.

They're replacing Ranger with BOTH a Bronco Truck and F-100 from what's been reported.  There's also no reason they couldn't offer an F-100 Raptor (and a Bronco Truck Raptor).

FWIW, here are numbers for Gladiator and Ranger:

I guess truth is, we probably won't know F-100 sales numbers if they lump them into overall F-series numbers.

Its clear that they want to do something different, though, as their Ranger approach thus far has been mixed.

That said, they sold a lot more Rangers prior to Bronco (and Maverick) coming online.  Hypothetically speaking, even if we threw out the "new approach" F-100 info, and lets say they just moved Ranger from MAP to TTP, one would think just by way of having an "unlimited" production run as the only product at TTP, that they could produce and sell more Rangers in similar volumes to before if they wanted to.

I think they'll be around the same size, but I think Maverick gets referred to as "midsize" because of interior volume (similar to how Accord became "full size" by interior volume despite midsize exterior dimensions).

I wish ford would give the tremor a completely unique front end, kinda like how the raptor does it. This would separate it from the other trims. If I wanted something that looked like all the other rangers, I’d just get the fx4 package.

I am glad to see those wheels though. I’ve been trying to get some badlands take offs ever since they came out with no luck. Maybe more will be available when this tremor comes out.

Life support is a bit strong.

2018* - 103k

2019* - 112k

2020* - 105k

2021* - 87k

2022 - 83k

2023 - 82k

2024 - 104k

2025 - 106k

*still included MKZ and Continental sales

Sales have been growing: 2018-2021 sales included sedan volume.  2022 on doesn't, so they've gotten back to where they were with sedan sales on SUV sales alone.

Sales would also be up again this year if Corsair hadn't been "hiatused" (Corsair decline of 9,260 YTD, vs overall brand decline of 8,796 YTD).

Sure, it's not as strong as the German brands, but life support is excessive.

If they can sell even 1,000-1,500 units of the "Bronco" at healthy ATPs (Aviator and Navigator sales have been anywhere in the 1,400-2,500 per month range this year for reference), it'd be fine, and add another 12-18k sales for the brand on the year at that level.

Besides, if they're on "life support", how do you propose they get out of life support?  Sit around and do nothing?   Or add new strong products in expanding segments?
