mackinaw
From today's Autoline Daily ala' Autoforecast Solutions. We’ve got some future product intel to report. Autoforecast Solutions says there’s a new Ford Maverick and Bronco Sport coming in 2028 and they’ll remain in production until 2036. Both those vehicles sit on Ford’s C2 platform and are built at its assembly plant in Hermosillo, Mexico.

Well, that might squash the Valencia Bronco Sport import rumor.....though, it technically only talks about the current models being build in Hermosillo. Not sure in this, The intel on the Valencia Brinco Sport was that it was different to the current version being built in Mexico. Perhaps different sources are reporting the same thing but in terms of regional location - thinking America, Europe and Asia with tweets for regional requirements? Well, we've all assumed it was a 2nd gen model, so naturally it'd be "different" from the current version. A regional production spot for finally globalizing Bronco Sport makes more sense to me..... If you click through to the source (link) you will see it says Ford Mid sized CUV (C2 | U758), not Bronco Sport. Unless U758 has been previously assigned to Bronco Sport, Autoline was misreporting the source and it would instead match the rumors of the Maverick SUV. V578 was the code name for the Maverick Based van. So this would be a Maverick based Utility (U), but at the same time, the Bronco Sport has CX designation. Some more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:KA467/Ford_development_codes This link is pretty good-has lots of info with links to the actual info. bzcat
CX code usually means it is developed by Ford's car engineering division, which was largely based in Germany. This engineering team has been decimated by Farley's deliberate cuts as a means to end product engineering and assembly in Europe. Any future CX projects will likely originates from Jiangling Ford (like Territory, which is CX743MCA). U code usually means it is developed by Ford's truck engineering division, which is largely based in Detroit. What we can surmise from this is that there is a Maverick adjacent CUV in the works. What we cannot determine is the size or price target, yet.

Size wise, I think it's going to straddle Escape and Edge sizes, allowing the next-gen BS to grow a bit.

Well here lies the rub- The Edge was 188.8 long and 76 wide The Escape is 181 long and 74 inches wide The Bronco Sport is 175 long and 74 inches wide. The Nautilus is 193 long and 76 inches wide Not sure what a longer C CUV would bring to the market-they need a slightly wider product to meet the mid sized market. Its far easier to make a longer product then it is to make a wider one, which normally involves a completely new platform. The only upside to using the Maverick is that it most likely hits cost points better (manufacturing) and is already integrated with an hybrid setup. I'm sure marketing will help out with whatever else they are planning on doing.

Ford vehicle reviews Those are the same project codes as present vehicles, the advisory uses them as placeholders because Ford hasn’t released future project codes yet I got duped by similar schedules back in 2016, the actual products were markedly different to what was in those old schedules
