Peeebie
Hey all, looking for advice before I pull the trigger on a used radio swap. My 2011 Lincoln MKS has the THX audio system, no nav, no satellite. The original radio is dead and I currently have an aftermarket unit in it which caused me to lose dash message functionality (can't clear messages, can't see odometer or reset oil life). I found a used OEM unit with the exact same part number: BA5T-18C815-AA38N8 but it came out of a 2009 MKS. The seller says it was working when removed. My questions: Will a 2009 unit work in a 2011 with the same part number? Was the BA5T-18C815-AA38N8 available in THX-equipped cars? I need to make sure it will communicate properly with my THX amp Can this be reprogrammed with Forscan + OBDLink EX using my As-Built data, or does it require dealer IDS? Will swapping back to OEM restore my dash message functionality? Thanks in advance!
