Absolutely. But, Mercedes obviously has a winning formula there so probably best to use that as a starting point and go from there

Oh for sure.  I just mean you can't slap a Lincoln badge on the G-wagen and call it a day, nor can you charge what Mercedes does.

Nope. Somewhere between Aviator and Navigator is probably the sweet spot

Am I the only one thinking this will be a Lincoln Everest? Much easier to design a luxury truck when the doors and roof don't come off. All the off road goodies that the Bronco has but more refinement, potential air suspension or adjustable fox suspension. The question is .....can the 3.5 Ecoboost fit? Bronco Raptor base engine and F150 Raptor optional engine. 80-120k.

Can it? Probably. Hell, some crazy bastard managed to squeeze a coyote into an old Focus SVT. Do they want to spent the time and effort to rework the packaging for such a limited number? Probably not.

I’d guess they’ll look into hybridization before trying that approach

Something that rivaled the g wagon in terms of looks, had a great interior and tech while undercutting the price of the g-wagon substantially.

Even if it had Navigator Pricing it still would be much cheaper than a G-wagon. The G-Wagon pricing is ludicrous. Lol

Most G Wagons are used or where used as small business tax write offs LOL

That's always been a thorn in my side. I'll bet a lot less King Ranches & Platinums would be sold if there wasn't the ability for every hobby-farm to claim it as a business expense.

It’s the same the world over, self employed people with a decent income buy themselves nice vehicles

and then proceed to write down most of the costs on their business by claiming tax deductions.

Amazing what you can do with a properly set up lease that also covers maintenance costs.

On the fixed roof vs removal top... how about a power retractable hard top? Not sure how workable that'd be on a suv sized roof, but that would really set it apart.

Where would you put it?

That's the question, but it could fold up in the cargo area. Wouldn't be much different than manually putting your roof panels back there. I didn't spend much time thinking about it, was just a thought that popped in my head lol

yeah I think it will be a wraparound greenhouse look that the rest of the lineup has.

It would just be a body-on-frame Aviator then. Has it been determined that there will be another generation of the CD6 Aviator? I recall there were rumors of the Explorer moving to C2.....

Nah it would have far better off road chops.

The Explorer isn't going anywhere anytime soon platform wise-not till 2032 or so I'm going with.

Explorer and Pathfinder....I find it interesting how they both have evolved throughout the years... Unibody, BOF, FWD, RWD, its like Pathfinder follows what Ford tries to do, yet never is loyal to it's initial birth or even Explorer....Like, "What the flavor for the next generation, and let's just slap a name to whatever platform we feel the masses will like.  But hey, it sells well... so it's not the platform or what drives it, maybe it's just the name and marketing... 🤨
