In all seriousness, I really like this affordable EV platform. I also really love how this thing is looking more and more like a EV ute as time goes on. I was just put off initially by some of the proportions. But things that we think will carry over to the final design like the general height of the beltline have since grown on me. I agree, we'll just have to wait to see the final product.

I like the overall shape, the headlights are super interesting. I attempted to draw what I could see but its speculative (I figured it might mirror the F-150 and Expedition’s front face). It’d be cool for Ford to develop a sort of iconic front design like Jeep. Edited July 7 by Zestyg

I guess the downward angle to it helps catch the airflow from the top of the cab?

Zestyg
Car & Driver used these renders from Avarvarii. Obviously not the real thing, but honestly looks like a decent composition of what we do know, although the hood is not nearly steep enough or bezeled Edited July 8 by Zestyg

The heavy wheel flare crease on the front wheels, and no crease on the rear wheel flare is strange.

Its way steeper and based off the tarp photo has a bezeled leading edge. Edited July 8 by Zestyg

Going back to this ticket thing - I wonder if additional reveals are happening 7/15 (almost here) and 8/27? FWIW, Borg's latest info for it: Details about the Skunktruck are due to start coming out in early August, including the name. The reveal is scheduled for January and reservations will begin immediately for the 2028 MY. I guess Ford is calling this a "Season of Reveals". I kinda suspected this was coming, their go-to-market strategy is to hype up each innovation independently to inform attitudes before the truck is fully revealed. Farley has mentioned it's a new form factor, not just a pickup. If they dumped it on the market in one confusing/boring burst of announcements, it might be rejected at face-value. The semi-mid gate has me interested more than anything. The mid-gate is built into the back seat and folds down to open up the passthrough. Smaller but simpler than the full midgate GM offers. The load floor under the rear seat is flatter than Mavericks, but not completely flat like F-150. It also has a fold flat front seat, a feature that comes and goes at Ford for some reason, but it will be very useful here.

The rear seat backs are attached to the mid gate. Opening the midgate essentially is folding the rear seats down. Skip to about 2:30 in this video to see it. It’s too high off the ground. Bumpers wrong. Zesty pointed out the differences in the hood slope. Plus the windshield isn’t sloped as much or long enough. Remember in the camo images we’ve seen, the windshield extends over a good portion of the front wheel well. Looks like they copied the front lights from the blue truck sketch. The rear cab has a bit of a buttress going on (slightly angled). Hopefully thats not accurate.

Put it this way, if the UEV pickup was more like Car and Driver image, In think a lot more people would like it but that won’t give the needed aero. Nope It's very straight-sided, no pronounced fender flares (or door handles), but it does have some creased sheetmetal hidden by the upper body camo (which is also hiding the Mach E-style handles). Front end is not accurate at all, I mean they show part of the front end in their teaser photos. The 3D printed model also alludes to the body styling to some extent, but seems to be exaggerated. I did some comparisons with this photo to Korean EVs in GIMP. I originally checked the Kia EV4 and EV6 since the C&D tour article mentioned, but the Kia slope is just way too steep. But I also checked it against the Hyundai Ioniq 5: Angle of view issues aside, focusing on the edge of the curve I feel this is a decent match for slope and shape of hood. Do you think this is a decent comparison for hood shape? The leading edge of the Skunk truck hood is obv different but I was trying to grasp the shape.
