We can all hope, but I remember back in 2018-19 when the Ranger was coming back to NA after a 8-year hiatus, and people were talking like it was going to be the end for Tacoma.  When just the opposite happened, Taco sales just kept increasing.

HRG

To be fair, regardless of Tacoma increasing, Ranger was doing very well upon introduction until they purposely limited it in favor of Bronco (and adding Maverick below it).

I doubt the average customer will know or care about that lol.

Yea, but what the average customer does care about is the ability for a company they are considering doing business with to deliver what it promises. That’s why the big shots at Ford must be relentless in their efforts to get CE1/UEV products to market on time (or earlier), in high volume, with high quality. No excuses

They also put weird cryptic images in their website videos. In chapel of love it has this plane ticket, the date Feb 17 2026 was when some storm happened in San Luis Obispo. I have no clue if that means anything, it was also the date they revealed the bounty shit for the platform. The flight boarding pass has other shit like an Indonesian airline flight # (GA3555) and San Diego 7:15 AM. I can’t figure it out.

the other video has this binary code that just translates to “Made you Look!” which makes me say fuck you to Ford.

Indeed, Ranger was benchmarked against Hilux for global markets and it did well up against the competition….

Clearly Tacoma is different enough to require a mor North American styled and sized vehicle….

I guess I don't fully understand what the difference between Hilux and Tacoma is?

Just noticed the passenger for the plane ticket was "Hugh E. Vee" .......so "huge EV" lol

I have to imagine the times, seat, gate, etc. have to hint at a debut time, but hard to figure it out......worth noting the seat on the right is 6A, vs. 16A on the left?

Also, San Diego International apparently doesn't use letters for terminals, so gate F6 doesn't make sense.....

"Skylands" is the only air-related name Ford has trademarked recently, but that sounds more like the Bronco roof than a vehicle name.

What if "Group 2" means they're actually going to show 2 models?

I know the date says 2/17/26.....but the Chicago auto show goes from 2/13-2/21 of 2027

The flight ticket doesn’t seem to be coherent or correspond to an actual flight. 2/17/26 is the date of the bounty hunters reveal, so perhaps we need to look there. The truck is to be revealed later this year, and AFAIK its SOP isn’t until around this time next year (AFS).

Right, I figured that it doesn't match an actual flight.  Just looking at different things trying to connect dots lol.

I’m looking at 7:15 to 8:27 on the 2/17 bounty hunter vehicle video for clues.

And that was me for a long time too.

Tacoma is slightly larger and based on Landcruiser 200/ Prado platform where until recently, Hilux was more down market workman truck with good 4x4 credentials.

I say recently because Hilux has moved to the newer Landcruiser 300 platform and looks like a stumpy 4 cylinder diesel version. In doing that, Toyota also jacked up the price significantly and lost lower end sales.

What's the bounty hunter video?

They are just having fun. The goal is to get us talking and speculating about it.

Could be!

GA means general aviation, so a civilian non-commercial aircraft, by the way

Yup, I figured that out.

Hmm, so it sounds like Ranger and Hilux need to maintain a lower end "everyman" quality to them, while maybe the US wants/expects more?

Ranger and Hilux spread across many markets but Australia and North America are more alike in tastes and requirements. Aussie Ranger and Hilux prices here are quite astonishing at the high prices being commanded.  Ranger could possibly do with better interiors for the higher trim levels but many global /ROW buyers wouldn’t be prioritising that.

Here is an unobstructed pic of the ticket btw. I accidentally blocked the bottom.

I can't find the interview, but Farley has implied the truck would be revealed this summer.  So with that in mind, I bet the departure and arrival times clue us in to when that will be. Either 7:15 aka July 15th, or 8:27 August 27th.

Maybe they start a broader teaser campaign on July 15th, with a reveal on August 27th.

Right, so sounds like maybe a split approach would work better?  I.e. global Hilux and Ranger stay "cheaper"/the work vehicles, while F-100 (and Tacoma) is the more "upscale" model for certain markets?

Have y’all tried to scan the barcode on the ticket? Wonder if there’s anything there

I thought about that but figured it wouldn't do anything.

Good idea.....I was thinking those were literal debut times with the reveal date hinted elsewhere, but your idea makes more sense.

Or......maybe my "group 2" theory of them showing 2 models is true, and they show the truck 7/15, and the SUV 8/27.......though the SUV is I think a year behind the truck, so I think it'd be a waste to show it this early.

If they show the SUV this early they’ll just undermine initial truck sales tbh.
