As long as Android Auto isn't blocked/not supported, it'll be OK. Other than, as I was thinking on the road yesterday, any BlueCruise type features are tied to onboard maps rather than fed maps. I used it once years ago and it got me lost (like other side of town lost) and haven't used it since. I have an iPhone, though. I have to imagine they'll still have CarPlay available to use other methods like Google or Waze. So so did some digging into this, apparently Apple is launching MapKit Automotive SDK, which this based on-it allows users to make modifications to Apple Maps for their own use. So I'm guessing this is something like the Navigation system that is in Sync 3/4 but that is connected to the internet via your phone for updates/Navigation. The Ford Digital Experience would still allow you to use Android Auto or CarPlay, so you can use Waze or Google maps-just this system allows closer integration with the cars system Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Exactly my thoughts also. Seems like the duplication will be more costly. But every time I read something like this it reminds me of GM dropping support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
