As luck would have it, we've got a Raptor outside. I just took the keys and checked - tailgate is power down and power up. I don't think the flip up glass is super plausible on this realistically. I think it could be done, but I think it won't be the route the designers take. This does bring up another thought about rear glass, though. I know there isn't an option on any Maverick to have rear window defrost. If they're going to have it on this thing, they'll either have to have the glass connected to the truck for the electrical connection, or have a quick-disconnect or press-connect if the glass is removable. I'd assume they're still using the step tailgate, and not that new version with the central door? He'd love a Raptor R, but didn't feel the body/interior changes are enough vs. his for the cost (plus obligatory markup)......maybe when the new one comes out it'll be more of a change he'd consider. Honestly, if Ford came out with a Lobo R (though a top end one, not one based off STX) similar to what Ram just came out with, he'd likely go that route, because he's always liked fast vehicles (his past trucks have been lowered and/or supercharged), and Raptor has been the only way to do that from the factory, but doesn't really need the offroad capability. They could do the quick disconnect like on Bronco that's very easy to pull and put back on....or as you point out, just not have it at all and save on glass and wiring. Looks like power up became an option on the high package in 2021 and then standard across the levels in 2024. Still using the step, not the "Pro Access Tailgate" barn door. Me, if I had Oprah-money and wanted a beast of a truck, I'd get a loaded up Tremor with the 5.0 and slap the supercharger setup onto it. Likewise, if I was going for a street truck or lowered truck, I'd start with a Lariat and do the same, plus lowering kit and wheels and such. The Lobo package baffles me really. That's showing the seat bottom on the floor with the seatback down, not the seat bottom first flipping up like Bronco. I'm interpreting that drawing as the green line (below) being the bulkhead folding backward into the bed: That's the only way those handles make sense on the fig-4, (if it folded back into the bed) as you wouldn't have the latch in the bed folding forward into the cab because then anyone could turn it and get into the cab.....nor would you have handles on the side that you can't access when it folds down. Those ones are different unless Maverick's uses a large center cover plate not on the mule above. I don't think the center thing is a cover on the maverick, anyway...
