I'm thinking the vehicle to the left is an early styling clay model of this rumored vehicle.

It appears to have the dropdown window line (next to side view mirrors) like the F-150. Not surprising the F-100 would also have these.

My guess for North American F-100 power trains is the same as current Ranger:

- 2.3 Ecoboost

- 2.7 Ecoboost

- 3.0 Ecoboost (F-100 Raptor)

Plus these possible new additions:

- 2.3 Powerboost hybrid (likely)

- 2.3 PHEV/EREV (less likely)
- 2.0 Ecoboost maybe for fleet/base

I wonder if the 2.3 PowerBoost could outright replace the 2.7?

Oh yeah, I remember now....I think most of us glossed over it, figuring it was something related to F-150.

I suppose that is a possibility. I remember reading articles (long ago) that said the Ranger PHEV was going to be 360 HP and 500 lb-ft of torque. But that was before we learned the Ranger PHEV was ROW only and they got a seriously de-tuned version of the 2.3 Ecoboost.

The F-150 Powerboost has a 47 HP electric motor in the modular 10R80 hybrid transmission where the Ranger PHEV has a 100 HP electric motor in the modular 10R80 hybrid transmission. A Ranger Powerboost might have ~317 HP (270 + 47) which is nearly the same as the 2.7 (315 HP).

It might be but the wraparound glass greenhouse is a major change vs the current model. It looks slightly smaller to me at least.

Fair enough, I actually really like the wrap around greenhouse look. We're so used to ford truck styling playing it safe that anything different like that gets my approval. It looks elegant.

This just looks like a f-150 mock up to me.

I thought the same at first, but look at its size relative to the SUV in the right side of the picture/in front of it....

Here is a question that I am interested in. Lets say Ford continues to build Mach E on the GE1 chassis for other markets. Could the upgraded electrical from CE1 Universal Electric Vehicle be adapted for use on GE1 chassis? I know GE1 is an older design, but would a CE1 electrical architecture sustain it for further use?

Probably but I doubt they would recover those costs.  Better to build a new one with all the ce1 improvements.

Originally, I would have thought it would evolve with GE2 developments but if it’s

only got a othe year or two left, Ford will probably keep everything the same.

Sales ae down to a dribble in China so not surprised if it’s axed there sooner.

Sad for me because it’s a likeable vehicle, Ford just went the long way around

developing it.

Obviously we know its origins (as E-Max or whatever it was to be), but I think it was an "ok" first effort, and people have seemed to like them despite sales shrinking after the incentives went away.  But as usual, Ford is content with just saying "meh" and moving onto the shinier object instead of improving.

Ford has no problem spending money on things it considers important….

i just wish they would do a trivial project for the diehards every now and then

Brronco was good but maybe a Falcon or a T Bird for people willing to spend the money

end daydream…

The Bronco took nearly 20 years to come back out after going away because of various issues since it morphed into the Explorer/Expedition.

Maybe the bigger thing is here is the Ford needs to move quicker instead of sitting on pot and not shitting 😛

I've said it a few times that while GM does make some strange moves sometimes, I do appreciate their "stick-to-it-iveness" of "we're doing this plan" and make it happen and then cancel it after they've actually tried it, vs. Ford, who starts, stops, starts again, pauses, cancels, etc., all while letting products rot on the vine or expire without replacements while they decide what to do.

It still boggles my mind that Maverick's quick design approach worked so well, yet that was the only example of which they used that approach.

I'm guessing it was the last of the ICE vehicles before the pivot EV then back to ICE/Hybrid and EVs secondary. Just look at the timeline and makes more sense that way...Ford was going all in with EVs back in 2022 or so after the the Bronco/Bronco Sport and Maverick launches.

Its been a complete shit show since then with new product. Any new product has at least a 36 month delay from start of production.

Yeah, that does make some sense.

Let's hope they actually stick to this plan for once......honestly, I don't think they can afford to change the plan again, with how old some of the products will be when they're currently scheduled to be replaced (2029/30ish ), coupled with the current product gaps.

It would be awesome, but I just don't see it happening. There were rumors awhile back that Ford was working on a new t-bird that was more performance oriented, and we saw them benchmarking a bunch of c8s, but nothing came out of that.

Farley keeps mentioning this off-road supercar of his. I personally think doing a new RS 200 for that makes a lot of sense, maybe make it somewhat affordable, 60, 70, 80k, Ford's rival to a lotus, Cayman, or c8, but off-road oriented. But I don't see it happening.

I'd be surprised if it's "affordable".

The issue is the RS200 is a 40 year old nameplate that has zero name recognition outside of hardcore car nuts-Yes its a fucking awesome car for its time, but it sure can't handle carrying a super car name by name recognition alone.

They would be far better off calling the Ford Raptor or something like that, because it would the be apex off road vehicle they make performance wise, IMO

Fair enough, but I'd argue if you're making a supercar, you're appealing to car nuts who are more aware of what the RS 200 is. But I get where you're coming from.

I just hope whatever it is, if it gets made at all, is closer to a Ford supercar shape with lifted off-road suspension as compared to yet another lifted truck or suv.

Time will tell, I could see it going either way. There's a small, but passionate market for entry level exotics coming in at 70 to 100 grand. Lotus, porsche, Corvette, etc. I know it's not a priority, but like JP said, it would be cool if Ford just did it for fun now and then. Offering something unique beyond their core portfolio that doesn't cost as much as a house.

Don’t forget that 8 of those 20 years under Mulally who absolutely refused

to entertain a new Ranger or Bronco, the topic was basically banned.

with respect to Bronco,

For what was spent and achieved on T6, a case could have been made

for the project on T3 as a short wheelbase F150 with aluminum panels.

Something like that could have been delivered more quickly…

Imagine building all your F Series SUVs in one plant (MAP)

God forbid Ford gets a clue and did something smart….

Ford had lots of other issues at time-the series they did about the Bronco dying in the 1990s and it trying to revive it since then didn’t pull any punches.
